It’s a 5.4L. I think you’re right, that blower is choking. VMP saw a 30 hp gain from swapping the 67 to a 160 on this blower on a bone stock GT500. Longtubes? Boost/timing?

No, this is on my ‘12 GT500 coming from a stock blower. My previous Whipple car is long gone. That car went from a 2.9L to a 4.0L to a 4.5L. I’m going a different route this time.

I had to port the inlet of the blower slightly in two places, and I redrilled new mounting holes (all four) in the throttle body. That’s it. I got my start up tune today, and dyno tuning is tomorrow. Right now it starts, idles, and drives around the block. So that’s a good sign. Lol.

I got tired of waiting for the 160mm from VMP, and went with a Whipple Elliptical 170. It requires some mods to fit, but nothing crazy. I’ll have results in a few days.

If you’re buying a “Cobra Jet” crank, it is exactly the same as a production GT500 crank. This has never changed. Get the part number to whatever they’re charging you $800 for.
