What causes this a poor connection from the start?

Loosened the jam nuts, turned the center section clockwise till it was centered using my eyes and the mudflaps, then tightened the jam nuts. Watched a vid of guy adjusting the pan hard bar to correct a off center diff situation pretty much the same issue I'm experiencing. Pretty confident I could do it myself.

Yes it was lowered when I purchased it, came with the Ford Performance non adjustable handling pack. 100 ft. lbs. is the recommended torque spec. for the 14 GT.
