If you found one at msrp and didn't buy because of a stripe defect, I don't think you really want one. You can replace the stripes for under $250 from bigwormgraphix, and they'll look better without the gaps that the factory stripes have.

I live in South Carolina, but bought the car in Arkansas. I don't have any special connections. I just did a lot of calling and negotiating. I've never paid markup before, but didn't feel like hunting anymore and this one had all the options I wanted. I would not pay any more than $5k over.

People actually buying the cars will opt for Recaros though, as long as there are no constraints. And the 10spd ZL1 outran a McLaren 570S around Willow Springs (I think) with Randy Pobst at the wheel. With Ford having access to essentially the same transmission I can't see the DCT being a must...

I have to disagree on the Recaro thing. When someone looks for 13-14 GT500, don't they desire the Recaros? And the same with GT350's? Those seats should be standard and the other seats offered at no cost.

The trans cost is moot point. Drivetrain costs are always astronomical in the early days when priced through parts department. You don't pay that cost directly when you actually purchase a car though. Take an 03 Cobra for example. When I 1st got mine I worked for Ford. They were around $34k new...

Whoever is making Ford's packaging decisions on these Mustangs needs to be ousted. I mean this car is expensive as far as a Mustang goes, no doubt. So when one forks over this level of cash, some of these packaging decisions look suspect. I feel like for $75k, why not include the B&O system...

If these transmissions are fragile and people start doing traditional GT500 mods this will be a severe wakeup call for many. I wonder was there any real benefit in not just using the 10spd auto?

High wings normally hinder top speed not help in achieving it. Surely Ford will offer at least 2 options since their showing a high wing like that first thing. Someone responsible for those decisions has to know that not everyone will want that.
