Hey everyone,
I'm having some issues tracking down the cause of my rear diff issues. So here's the backstory:
I purchased a used 2003 Cobra IRS unit that was blown up from a hard launch with slicks. I ended up nabbing a used center pumpkin to replace the blown unit (I didn't rebuild the center...
Is there anyone in the Phoenix area that can help me with an issue with my IRS? I'm really trying to not sell this thing, but every time I drive this f***er it makes the most disgusting noises in the back. It clunks, bangs, rattles, etc. It makes every noise known to man when it comes to cars...
Not so much anymore. Quite a few studies have been conducted that show that millennials are texting instead of emailing more as it's more efficient and easier access. Business owners and suppliers are becoming more aware of this fact and are starting to jump on board as well. I'm an R&D project...
Cap out a Roth IRA now, and in January 2018 and let it sit until January 2019. Take the rest and set it aside as a cushion. If you have enough, take a chunk of that (approx. 10%) and use it to play around in the stock market. If you're serious about investing, learn the stock market. A lot of...
Well I got it up again and went through every bolt to make sure it's tight. Everything was to spec. So now I'm out of options. It looks like I'm just going to have to take it to a shop and have them look at it.
It almost sounds like a bad bearing, but the bearings are perfectly fine. I think there's some rubbing going on with the driveshaft/exhaust, and tires/e-brake cable. I just bought my first house so I've been busy with it. I'm going to get it up on jacks again next weekend to see what's going on...
So drumroll please!!!! The clunk is gone! But about 5 new noises just popped up. I'm at a loss now. I'm going to throw in the towel and put out a call for help. Anyone reading this in the Phoenix area who can help me out? Beer and pizza is on me.
Bringing this back from the dead. I sent my center diff to get it rebuilt and it's mounted in the car. I will put in the axles tomorrow and everything. I also sent my aluminum driveshaft to get it shortened. There was no clearance to get this over the pinion nut.
LOL, you're the one who started off on recommending a different path by going boosted. It seems that OP isn't aware of what path to go to get efficient power gains by asking about expected gains from a tune on a stock motor, no offense OP. So it's only right to recommend different options. No...
Did you make sure the backlash is correct? I'm pretty sure what you're experiencing is coming from the diff. so an aluminum driveshaft would just make the buzzing louder as it transfers sound better than steel. If a shop did it, take it back as soon as possible and make them redo it. If you did...
