I have a friend thats a war Vet who lost his left leg in Iraq, he wants a GT350 so bad and wants to track it.
Does anyone know if Ford would do a Special order to install an Auto with paddle shifters?
or would it be better to buy a low milage one and put an auto in it?
I spoke with a friend who's brother works at Romeo and said they only pressure test, the harnesses are attached
before shipping to Flat Rock for installation.
The Process is also layed out in this article
Follow Along As Teams Build The Shelby GT350’s Voodoo 5.2 Engine
under the Drivers side coil cover, you have to remove the PCV vent tube, then the cover snaps off.
there are videos on how to remove the hose, a small screwdriver is all you need to push the green tab to the side
releasing the snap clip.
Lets say the rate is 4% thats 1:in 25 thats 760.
thats with the 2015-2018 production numbers of 18,000 total
keep in mind that Romeo plant builds about 27 engines per day
with 250 work days in a year, thats 6750 engines per year.
for production, not replacement. as previously stated they stopped...
My quess is that it has somthing to do with the shortend 2018 production run.
remember this only applied to Flat Rock Assembly not Romeo Engine Plant.
Maybe they have a lot of extra "R" engines in stock?
and it might be, but I can only speculate on the numbers that I have access to. Ford wont realese them, Dealers have no Idea. so I can only work with what I have. If you know of other numbers let me know..
Thats why I said even if it were 4 %, thats not above the average.
The only differences I can find are the phasers, the regular GT350 use the
FR3Z-6256-B, FR3Z-6C525-B & FR3Z-6C524-B
and the GT350R uses the GR3Z-6256-A and GR3Z-6C525-B & GR3Z-6C524-B.
I believe the different numbers are for Left and Right, Intake and Exhaust Cams.
I had found people posting...
No source, personal obervation, Research, and pure conjecture.
there are no published numbers out at this point. I have only collected my own information by searching every forum, Facebook page and instgram, twiter ect. I have an Excel sheet with about 200 cars with engine issues
so far out of 18,000 built there are about 2% that have had failures, actually not that far off from many specialty cars.
even if the number shows up to 3 or 4 percent and is still withing the averages of many production cars today.
I think we are just more vocal about the failures.
I figured I would post this here instead of a new thread.
I purchased the 2017 Ruby Red / Black Stripes Track Pack Shelby GT 350 off the Showroom floor on May 10th 2018

I have used Royal Purple in my 2005 Mustang GT for 13 years. the car had 150,000 miles, heavily modded,
Ported and Polished heads, Comp 127-300 Cams, LBA LT Headers, and the list goes on..
The car was a straight line car 12.29 @ 115 in the 1/4 mile and would list the front tire off the ground...
My wife bought me a Shelby GT350 for my Birthday. I had a 2005 Mustang GT that I built as a tribute to the GT350
before shelby even was thinking about one. it was what I thought the GT350 would look if it were on an S197
body.
My Grand Daughter said the color is the same color as Marvels's...
