Need help. I'm trying to figure out what exhaust system or what particular part of the exhaust system is responsible for giving that popping/crackling sound on deceleration. I've changed my exhaust system up a couple times trying to find it but so far...no dice. Right now I have Bassanni...
Hmmmmm mine is not like that...mine comes out of the header flange and is a full 2.5" from the X pipe thru the 2.5 inlet/outlet of the Stingers then out the back. Your comment about the burrbling on deceleration is starting to make me think the cats are the reason my car doesn't like most others...
No not selling the mid lengths; they weren't touched. Since I already had a full custom exhaust system, I saw no compelling reason to spend the $$ for the entire Borla cat-back system. I only needed the mufflers. I got in touch with Borla and asked for the p/n just for the S-Type Stinger muffler...
Ok I've gotta pick your collective brains a little and really hope someone can help me out... So I bought a set of Borla p/n 40842S (S-Type mufflers) that are basically what comes with the Borla S-Type Cat-Back exhaust system and installed them Friday. And now my car basically sounds like an old...
How do you like the carbinite coated pulley? After seeing this thread, I reinstalled my carbinite 2.76" upper and cranked my RR tensioner down with 35 lbs. It's way tight now. And builds and holds boost better than ever if I'm being honest. Plus the belt dust is noticeably less. Obviously I had...
RR made 2 tensioners waaaay back in the day. One was a 'normal' spring style like the factory tensioner and even most aftermarket tensioners. Then they also offered the manual adjust with spring assist style. This one was insanely popular bc it has an adjuster bolt that you can manually crank...
Ok so to be clear, does the Thump tensioner have the manual bolt you crank down like the RR tensioner does? I get it that it's spring loaded...they all are. Just not all have the manaul adjustment like the RR has.
So curious, for you and the other guys who have carbinite coated their upper....are you still cranking down on your tensioner? Not sure if the Thump tensioner is manual adjust or just spring assist like factory, but I have an old skool Reichart Racing manual adjust with spring assist, and I...
Curious, when you say coated do you mean carbinite coated? I had my 2.76" Billetflow pulley carbinite coated for my KB 2.2...and that was a mistake. I don't know anout you, but there is no amount of additional grip it 'might' provide that can make up for how brutal it is on belts. As it cuts...
2nd owner here. Bought it from Jason Preusse off this very website Thanksgiving weekend 2007. Had 12,500 on it. Went thru the engine in 2015 with 31K on the clock. Shows just under 36K now.
