If you picked it up for low $20s you will be fine. Building a 5.8 is an expensive venture.

I’ve been through this process. I can tell you the manufacturer fights tooth and nail to not buy it back. A buyback under the lemon law means the car has significant issues that were not repairable after 3 attempts. I wouldn’t touch it.

Mechum and Barret Jackson cater to clientele that buy classic cars and exotics. A late model GT500 hasn’t reached collector car status. There are plenty late model GT500s on Autotrader.

Your friend dodged a huge headache with this car! It’s been sitting at Grinwald Ford with a blown motor. Broken rod, holes in the block, damaged cylinder head, etc. I see it’s no longer listed for sale, somebody bought it with the blown engine.

Ok Thanks for all the info. Definitely want to do the the elbow and KB mono after reading all the response. I’ve talked to a few others that are really happy with Lund tunes. Leaning towards them for the tuning as well.

These cars are extremely expensive to repair! I can’t imagine staring down the barrel of a $30K+ bill.

I’m curious if you got the car repaired. What was all damaged once the motor was apart?

Looks like the XBA elbow and KB 168 is a worthwhile upgrade. I send PBH an email as I don’t see the XBA/168 parts available on their website. The stock fuel system supports these mods and 720rwhp?

Just looking to maximize the HP potential with bolt ons. Keep it safe on 93 as I have no plans to build the bottom end. Can I get 750rwhp with above parts if I go with a larger KB 75mm TB instead of the Ford Racing 65mm? I’m about 3 hours away from Alternative for a dyno tune.
