I just did a 1200 mile road trip in my Lexus IS500. Totally comfortable, 25-27MPG, and plenty of power when you need it. Couple with that Lexus reputation for reliability, I think it is perfect and way more maneuverable than an SUV for road trips.
I absolutely love the looks. And if I HAD to buy a 6 cylinder, I'd take the inline over a V any time, especially Ford's garbage ecocrap motor. But I don't trust the new motor. The Hemi was a proven piece, and I've read a few things that suggest the Hurricane can be a pain for some service items.
