The reason he pays only 17% is because of his deductions. That guy is a huge philanthropist. So instead of him giving all his money to the government he gives to the causes and people he trusts. I wonder what programs wouldn't get financed if we all did that.

What if the woman who grossed $60,000 annually only had to pay the same 17.7% as the top 1%. Then she would only have to pay a little over $10,000 in taxes. Don't you realize how much better her life could be with an extra $8,000 extra at her disposal yearly? Don't you understand that THIS is what actually boost the economy? The top 1% do not boost the economy, if people can't afford to buy...it's a stalemate. We should have to pay the same percent of taxes straight across the board no matter what your gross income level is.

The next point I want to make is this....

He could have paid 30% (13.6 million) and still had over 30 million to do what he pleases with it. The scales are unbalanced and in the advantage of the wealthy. Of course it is, the wealthy (top 1%) are the ones who elect presidents and pay lobbyist to win the vote of select politicians when laws and bills come to pass.

I hate to even respond since this isn't "pics that make us lol" and it's politics, but I hate when people have the thinking that you do.

You can't expect to take more of their (the rich) money and then they'll just sit there and be ok with it. Not going to happen. They're going to go and get it back somehow.

  • Won't buy a new boat this year.
  • Won't buy a vacation home.
  • Won't buy a new car.
  • They get rid of the cleaning lady.
  • Decide not to hire extra help at the office.
    Etc...

See the problem here?

You are obviously a trickle down from the top theorist, but I believe our economy has already proven that doesn't work. Can't see the forest for the trees. :nonono:

The middle class is supporting the heaviest burden in this country.
