Someone on these forums used to make and sell a 96-98 Cobra upper intake to C head lower intake adapter.

Most of it should work. The EGR pipe not work, but everything else should.

You'll also need a 99/01 Cobra throttle cable and cruise control cable.. LMK if you're interested I have both for sale. And I'm going to be leaving for a few months here shortly.

Isn't it USMCChief or something like that?
USMCChief53. Brian Nutter is his name. He just made me one. Not sure how many extras he made but I'd snatch one. Saves you from having to try to find 01 throttle and cruise cables, etc.. Plus the 96-98 intake looks waaaaaay better

If you utilize the intake adapter, all accessories attached to the intake lid/upper intake stay in their respective locations aka you will not need to purchase the newer throttle cable, etc. You can re-use all of your old equipment.

This.. There are TWO benefits..
1.. Looks better anyway
2. 99/01 Throttle and Cruise Cables are expensive and hard to find from the terminator crowd snatching them all up when they went turbo.

But, all 5 adapters in this run are spoken for.. So it may be awhile before you have another chance.
I tried to buy an extra but he didn't have any left.

If you are using the knock sensors you will need to re position the knock sensors. The 99-01's use low provide knock sensors. The C lower intake will hit the knock sensors. I have done several c head swaps.

The water crossover will need to be modded as well. The c heads do not have the front bolt that the crossover bolts to. You can twist the little tab around so that it will land on the corner of the manifold. Tap the manifold.

The alternator bracket is different too. I just make up a piece that goes from the top of the alternator to intake manifold.

I would recommend putting in 97 Cobra cams and degreeing them. My personal dd is a 98 Lincoln Mark VIII with 04 heads, 99 intake, degreed 97 cams, stock exhaust, stock cats thru an auto and my car put down 297rwhp. Id does 8.65 in the 1/8 full weight.

What gears are in your Mark VIII?
