I'm picking up some 20x9 fronts and 20x11 Forgestar F14so next week. They currently have 305/30s on the rear and 255/35 on the fronts. I'm afraid the 305/30 tire is too short. I don't want the rubber band look. I also see that a lot of people go with a 315/35 which looks way too tall and is well over 28"s. I wished there was something in between. The best I've found is a 315/30 which seems to give me a little more sidewall than the 305/30.

I chose Forgestars because they're lighter, and I'm not wanting to lose performance or traction compared to my current 275/49/19 rears. Is this inevitable? It appears that I'm currently around 27.7" diameter. The 305/30 is like 27.2 and the 315/30 is 27.4. Does anyone have the 315/30 setup they could share somega good pics? And how is traction compared to stock? I plan on getting settled nitrous soon, and hate the look of a 15" rim out back with 20s on the front so I was thinking I could buy an extra pair of rshoes for the back if they could fit the 315/35 NTO5R. I think I read they have a 305/35 555R too. Advice? Opinions? TIA.

BTW I'm lowered on the SVE coils, so approx 1.5" drop.

Meh. Sidewall is nice. The car doesn't ride like ass. You have longer gears with a taller tire. I would never go back.

Mine are 275/35R20 and 315/35R20 now and they're perfect. Notice in these pics how the front tires look a little short? Those were 275/30R20s. Once I moved to 275/35R20s, it balanced everything out and was just right.

How much of a drop is that? I just imagine a 315/35 being way too slow and hurting 1/8 and 1/4 mile performance. Those actually look good, some setups with the same sizes I've seen look different; almost like truck tires...

My car is lowered very mildly, just over an inch. Koni Str.T and Steeda Sport springs. It rides like a dream. As for my 29" tires, I actually go faster with them. My car has 3.73s, and I was at the limiter in 4th before the traps with my race wheels back when my motor was stock. (around 110 mph) I need these tall tires to be able to get through in 4th. My 26" tall race wheels/tires don't work at all, especially now with the blower. In fact, I need to go from 3.73s to 3.31s.

Also, setting up your street wheels/tires based on ultimate strip performance is dumb IMO. Especially since most people only go to the track a couple times a year. When I go to the track, I use my Welds.

Well, I'm auto with 3.15 gears. I plan on getting some radials but I do a lot of Mexico runs too. I have a few Camaro and coyote friends that like to run up randomly and I use my car as a DD as well, so it's hard for me to get or find a combo that will work both ways.

Have you tried the 315/30? I'm still leaning towards having them. I see the r888s come in this size as well. I'm afraid with the 1.5" drop plus 315/35s I'm going to have rubbing issues. I do have an adjustable Panhard bar tho, if that helps..

I've read the nitto tires run smaller than other brands in the same size, so maybe I should explore the options with the 315/35 in a Nitto. I just don't want the dumbest look of having "bands on it".

I have 305/35 20 Nitto 555R's on my Forgestar F14 20X11 and they look great. I run 275's in the front but I have 9.5's.

I don't know why but I'm really not wanting 315/35; mostly due to the overall diameter being so large I see it slowing me down with the 3.15 gears. Then, I'm scared it will look like truck tires. I got the rims on today with the 305/30s in the back and 255/35 fronts and the front doesn't look bad, but the back is looking like rubberbands. There is too much gap between the tire and rear fender. I started searching today and noticed a lother of people do a 295/35 in the back. Being the rims are 20x11, will a 295 appear stretched? I know it's still a 28" tire but still shorter than the 315/35. Also, I notice most people are running aboutique an overall inch larger diameter in the rear than the front. I don't think I like the rake look it gives. So if I matched the overall rear, my front would need a 255/40/20. Is this ridiculous sounding? 295/35 rear and 255/40 front?

A buddy of mine did a 40 series up front on his Shelby and it looked terrible. There is a reason most people run a slightly larger tire out back. Do you really think there's going to be that much difference between a 28.2" tire and a 28.7" tire? That said, you seem like you've pretty much already got it all figured out, so why don't you just buy what you want?

Paul.
