Ok guys I have a question, I just got a 2011 GT, in the process of doing full exhaust, twin disc, and driveshaft. Trying to figure out what supercharger to run, not sure if I want to run a Vortex kit or a TVS setup? I ran a Vortex on my last cobra, with no issues. Is spending the extra money for a TVS kit worth it? Or is the TVS an overall better system?

if ur gonna spend $7k on a TVS kit go with a CPR Turbo kit for a little more.... its a no brainer imo.

and don't waste ur money on a driveshaft. it will do absolutely nothing for you other then make ur wallet lighter. don't be fooled by the lighter rotating weight weight thing. it does NOT apply to a DS. an aluminum DS will result in 1/2 hp. yea, 1/2!

I know at lest 6 ppl that have modified Mustangs and 4 of them run a TVS blower. Im not knocking it cause I had one on my previous Mustang but they all make the same HP.

and u pretty much hit the ceiling with it at around 650 whp give or take depending on dyno. and there will be heat sink on hot days no matter what cooling mods you run. check out what a CPR Turbo kits temps are compared to ambient temps and its mind blowing how efficient that kit is!

650 hp thats a lotta hp no doubt but u will want more and the Turbo gives u that option. and the Turbo will make far more Torque.

VMP Gen 2 TVS is my vote. I've had mine for four years and love the thing.

Upgrading the driveshaft is a good idea just from a parts breakage standpoint.

There are gains to be had with the aluminum driveshaft. I've seen it.

My $.02

I considered all the options, centrifugal, turbo, and PD. For the way I drive the car I settled on a PD blower, specifically a VMP Stage 2 TVS kit. The basic stage 2 kit with dyno tuning is proven to yield 600+ rwhp and 500+ rwtq. I'm just using the VMP email tune that ships with the kit for now (everything else besides OPGs and crank gear is stock on the car). With the email tune, which Justin (owner of VMP) says he keeps very conservative, my car put down 561 rwhp 485 rwtq, which I'm happy with for now since it's being put away for Winter.

If I went turbo I'd definitely go with CPR. The bang for the buck is amazing. The two biggest reasons I didn't go with CPR is a) more maintenance involved / stuff that could go wrong and b) Much more labor intensive to install.

I originally was going to install the blower myself but I didn't want to tackle the OPGs and crank gear. I ended up taking the car to Revolution Automotive which is one of the best Mustang shops on the east coast and then them install everything. They do charge more for labor for parts not bought through them, so the total as just north of $3,000 but for the piece of mind of professional install and people that know what the hell they're doing with these cars I got over the sticker shock. When I was there I asked about how a turbo install would compare and the answer led me to believe that a turbo kit is considerably more $$ for labor to install.

To clarify something, when I say CPR is the best bang for the buck, I'm talking about the parts you get (exhaust / k-member, etc). You also need to consider what option you'll get the most out of. If you don't have a built motor or other supporting mods you won't be able to tap into the full potential of any of the FI options, but you'll get more out of the TVS 2.3 than the others.

If you're stock besides a CPR turbo you maybe can run 6psi and make 600+/500+, so it's efficient for sure, but you can't take advantage of the turbo because the engine won't take it (at least for very long). My TVS is probably pushing about 9-10psi on the current pulley.

If you want to go with a centrifugal, I would get a ProCharger. They have a rep for having the lowest parasitic loss of all of them.

I prefer twin screw because they make about 80% of their peak torque through almost the entire rpm range. The centri... not so much.

Benefit of the centri is you keep more original parts and they have a tendency to be more street friendly.

Just my opinion anyway.

The easiest install is the PD SC and this is my second stang with the VMP kit and no issues with either one. A turbo would be nice, but the install is more in-depth and you'll have more maintenance with a turbo.

I would spend some time researching all options, and pick what suits you best. I went with a Procharger Stage 2, ID1000's, and a dyno tune, and I am very happy. Only thing I am not happy with is the initial 60' time of my car. On the street it isn't very noticable, it rips your head off. At the track, it doesn't want to 60'. However, my install was way easy, kit was relatively cheap, and before I did ID1000's and tune I was running the out of the box Procharger tune and it did fine.

Do yourself a favor and order a VMP TVS kit. Easy to install and perfect for a daily.

Man, stop messing around. Get the VMP kit with an 82MM pulley. Not only is the VMP kit a proven product with great results, it has less piping to go wrong or come loose. Also, the plus side of the VMP kit is they send you and awesome tune out the door by one of the better tuners around. Justin knows his shit because that's all he services. Its really no competition.

We are giving away TVS kits (not giving them away but close enough) The bang for the dollar can not be beat HP per $.
