Since you're going to have to spend money on retune, I'd install a gen 2 JLT RAI setup, it fits so much better than the gen 1. The gen 1 will end up rubbing the paint off your coil cover/valve cover.

Stay off boost territory till then I suggest.
Just changing the intake before the MAF doesn't require a retune and will not be dangerous to drive hard. (?)

It also doesn't change the boost.

It sure does open up a lot of hp from stock though. And sounds great.

So your saying I could order a Gen. 2 JLT RAI if I have the K&N now and not a retune?

The Gen. 2 will not rub paint off will it?

In your case since you are already pulled and tuned Patrick, you could potentially run into a problem. I had a stalling issue a couple years ago because of changing out my intakes on my pulled/tuned car.

But the guy who is on a stock pulley and tune can change out his pre-maf intake without needing a tune or worry about getting into boost. It's always been one of the first and best mods that get done to increase power on a PD blower. The stock intake is like breathing through a straw.

Thanks for the clarification Chris. I will have to find a new tuner. It's something I want to change out and I can't change my fan settings since swapping my t-stat it's locked. Unfortunately the guy who tuned my Cobra closed shop.

You can always swap it on and give it a shot you might not need a retune. I swapped my UPR for a gen 1 JLT true cold air and it made the car about 1 full point richer at WOT. That was back when I had free Amazon tune updates so I just had Rick clean it up for me.

Thanks on my old 01 I had a gen 1 and it rubbed. I'm at 11.5 at wot on my wideband currently.

I didn't know you were running a pulley cover Mike. What size upper?

I'm running a 2.9" upper with the 4lb caged lower. I've run my 3.0" and theres still plenty of room in the cover for a larger pulley. I could probably go up to a 3.5"+ pulley as I believe the TVS snout is in the same location as stock or its at least much lower than a Whipple. I originally was going to try to put a belt guard on my old Whipple setup and during the test fitting the belt guard barely cleared my 2.6" RR pulley.

Just finished the Killer Chiller install... Haven't put the 315s on yet waiting for better weather but man what a difference in temps already!

Pics are kinda small but Charge temp is almost the same as IAT, fluid temp is 38.5
