The GT500 was running on 87 octane, I could tell by the sound. Also it looked like it had sticky front tires that slowed it down. And the window was down so less aerodynamic. Plus I doubt it was running on fresh oil. I think if you solve these things it would put at least 6 car lengths on the ZL1.

Soooo manual vs manual, the 13-14 gt500 can hang/beat the new zl1...can only imagine how badly the s550 gt500 will violate it lol.

It won't considering the slowest offering of the ZL1 did just fine. The new auto will be even faster so I see it being just as even as this race was.

Let's see if Ford puts it's almighty 10sp in the new GT500 and see how it does. Who cares about manual vs manual BS, it's about the faster offering from both companies.

a new zl1 with a tiny 1.7 blower at 9. psi vs 2300 at 15psi the gt500 is a very fast car, the last zl1 was not in the gt500 zip code.

Pretty sure the GT500's stock boost level was not 15psi. I may be wrong but I don't think so.

LT4's with the 2.3 rotor pack blowers are making in excess of 820rwhp at only 15psi last I checked. No ****s given what these cars can do stock. 1.7 maxes out at around 725rwhp give or take.

zl1 is eons ahead handling and ride wise the power feels more violent in GT 500... It's an amazing car that does everything well. Like the love child of a GT 500 and the GT350.

I would like to see them go from a 60 roll, that's where the 13/14 GT500's really shine. but either way thanks for sharing.

The car has enough to run with GT 500 from a roll. Has small ass blower and torque to move it along. We will see in spring what they run in quarter to put in a verdict for sure.

...

It's not like the auto is head and shoulders faster than the manual. When Motor Trend did they're test, they found that the manual was actually faster around a track than the auto. They made all the adjustments they could, but could never get the auto around the track faster than the manual. But that was around a track. However, I still don't see there being that much difference from a roll race, unless Droopy is behind the wheel of the manual.
