Yes, overpriced as everyone has stated. Plus, it's a black exterior. With 33K miles on it, you'd want to check out the paint carefully as chip, swirl marks, road rash and imperfections show up more easily on black paint.

My advice is to check the SVTPerformance 'Terminators for Sale' sub-forum daily. Eventually you should find one of great interest to you.

LOL, I guess I'm a horse of a different color around here. You guys baffle me some times. I have seen 2 Cobras in the Market section "That I know of" that had an asking price of $30K. EVERYONE who commented said that was a good price for those cars.

Granted they were SB and MC, but I guess color is a big deal around here. I think the condition of the car should carry more weight than the color.

Anyway, I just find it funny that some Cobra's priced at $30K people are fine with while others think it's crazy to ask $30K for one of these cars.

It's all subjective I guess.

I work for a dealer and am selling my 2004 Silver Coupe 10k miles it has usual bolt ons and I have all original parts. I think it's a 28500 car but it's a 10k mile car and there are not many of those left except my vert with 9100 on it. With that as a comparison I would agree with most 25-26k for the black if clean history.

I agree with you 110%, but most people on this site will disagree on that asking price for a "silver" Cobra. Now if it were SB or MC or maybe CO they would be okay with that. I think that way of thinking is not logical at all.

I think the condition of your car and the low miles makes it worth the 28.5, not what color it is.

Also, as a Cobra owner I'm hoping the value of my car goes up. I don't think other Cobra owners should be devaluing our cars as much as they do on this site. But, that's just my worthless opinion.

it's pretty hard to find them under $20k with low miles and unmolested. For $30k it better be low miles and MINT.

Supply and demand my man. SB, MC, & CO are the most sought after colors price goes up. Market drives prices. It's a lot easier to find a black, silver, or red one. Hell the same plays true for the L's if you want a SB L the price goes up.

I understand color plays a factor. And I understand that for higher demand colors you will pay a little more, but not thousands more. If a SB, MC or CO goes for 30, then the other cars of equal quality (i.e. condition/miles) should go for 28.5 (like the silver 04 mentioned above).

However, my point is that's not the consensus on this site. At least that's the way I see it.

Everyone is saying that 30K for this black Cobra (listed by OP) is too much. okay, maybe that's true, but depending on condition it could be worth 28.5, but everyone is saying around 26.

Again, it's subjective is all I was trying to say....

Dealers can get a little more on price because they can generally offer a larger financing pool to get the deal done.

I think people on this forum and Facebook asking $25k+ for a car with 35k+ miles is ridiculous. Especially undesirable colors and verts. I don't agree with the "market going up". You just have people asking ridiculous prices thinking their car is worth gold. I bought a 03 torch red with 41k miles for $20k. Then sold it with 66k miles for $17k. Had a hard time selling it too. The overpriced ones will keep sitting.

I love black....unfortunately the market just favors mc and sb more ....hence the markup .....mc especially don't tell anybody you have one of those in your garage with low mileage ....guys will be hanging off the gutters trying to get in....it's ridiculous

I would jump on it if you can get it for $25Kish or anything under IMO. I'm not one though to squeeze every penny out of picking one up, better to buy the right car at a price you are comfortable with, than get a deal on a car that you are not. Life is short, I have a buddy been waiting a year to find a steal on a cobra and I shake my head as he is still "looking".

Also on my cobra the trans had been thrashed in my car with only 22K mi and ported Eaton. Look at paint, do what you can to inspect trans, and if possible compression test. I have learned after buying that mileage is really just a number. A car with 50K mi might be stronger (motor/trans) than a car with less.

If you find a clean specimen, go get it. There is demand out there for these cars.

Those are some very good points. Life is short, and as long as you love the car and are enjoying it, money is secondary. These are toys after all.

I also agree that mileage is not as much of a factor as condition. For example, the engine in the car that I bought new, which now has 118k, is actually healthier than the engine in the coupe that I bought in 2012 with only 10k. I believe all those years of sitting hardened up the valve stem seals, so now it burns oil on startup.

too many factors really. IMO cars are easier to sell when the weather is warm. Lots of good deals in the winter :)

Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum and currently in the market to purchase terminator Cobra.
I just want to have some idea whether the Cobra that I am interested is over priced or not and if I can get some advise, I would be very appreciated.

2004 Mustang Cobra Coupe. (not convertible)
Black exterior.
Two previous owners.
33000k miles.
Bone stock.
No signs and history of accident.
Selling at a dealer.
Listed at $30,000 USD

Please share you idea and it would help me much on the purchase.

Thank you!
I agree with everybody...it does seem a little high....make him a lower offer.......I bought from a dealer made a lower offer and he accepted.... I think the dealers are a necessary part of the market they provide much needed liquidity and financing... I watched the saleen guys aggressively attack the dealers that had their cars ....well the dealers left, the liquidity left and the saleen values are horrid...forget trading those in....don't want to see this happen to our cars...the prices seem to be getting better for terminators, hey it's the gnx of the 80s...on the street whipping azz
What's up my man.... my wife just put her '04 cobra on market.... 52k miles, babied , asking 18,500...... if interested, I'll send u pics........ GREAT CARS BUT 30K is tooooo much

How do I put thread in market ?!?

Go to the market section, Terminator buy and sell. Post a new thread. Post details, pics, don't forget to post one with the cobra and your username.
