No I was so worried about it being something else that I didn't even consider the belt/idlers. I don't think the tensioner is under excessive tension, I don't remember exactly how much play it has.

From what I can tell just listen I'd guess the ticking is coming from here:

But the acoustics under the car with the engine running are kinda hard to figure out. Also, that's not running on the S/C belt which you can see in this still frame is off by 1 rib, after I just fixed it.

It's funny that you just circled your ac compressor because I'm having AC problems that need to be tended to in the spring. My engine had been out of my car for 2 years while I rebuilt the top end after it dropped a couple of valve seats. When I got it all back together last winter, everything ran fine...except for the AC. I think the AC shaft seal dried out and leaked the high pressure side out(low side pressure is good). My AC would constantly cycle and probably eventually leaked out all the low side pressure from cycling. I just dealt with no AC or killer chiller this year since I was so happy to be able to drive it again.
AC systems don't like to sit idle without usage as the seals can dry out. Maybe get a video of the ac pulley while it's running and making that noise?

Mine did sit for a few months. It actually sits most of its life. Only had 23K miles. Between deployments and living in WA a state where it rained 8 months out of the year, I hardly drive it.

oh ok. I think a few months between AC uses should be fine especially since most people here store their cars for the winter. Years of no use on the other hand are more likely to dry out seals but I guess it could still happen.
