Rxt here. Lighter pedal feel then my original, but definitely an aftermarket clutch feel. It's a good clutch though so far. I'd suggest against slipping anyways for longevity.

Okay..........I'll bite on the McCleod user thing :)->) .
Spec SS
My stocker let go on a dyno in late 2014 after some mods . I got the car used and to be honest it became suspect shortly after purchase when stock with the 331's. At least it the car broke in a good place! If I flat bedded the broken car home (waited a week) the Kansas Ford dealership where I got the car offered to speak with a NY dealer for a 20% discount. Another flat bed. Nah....the shop installed the Spec SS which until that time..whether single or dual disc Spec was my absolute "go to" clutch.
Pedal was a bit stiffer but I felt that was a trade-off for bite & hold which it did very well. Chatter at red lights was very noticeable and a bit annoying . Again ...I felt above certain power levels there's always comfort trade offs. I broke in the clutch carefully for 600 miles. After about 2200 miles with the Spec SS my buddy with a ZR1 wanted to go out to play . So that week perhaps 15X I start doing the hard 1-2.....roll 2-3-4 hard. TC OFF. The car was never at the track but this was to be on a country road ....so it was time to practice for sure. That next weekend we text...I roll away from Sunoco and hit it in 2nd at 25-30mph. Whip !! Blowers whines like crazy and tach launches into outer space. After a few more gentle shifts I KNOW my Spec SS is shot. Up until that time on this and other forums I touted the Spec big time. Maybe it was the install? I'm almost thinking the shop may not have "calibrated" the Spec ? Not Sure. And...I may never know.
MCleod RXT
So I stumble & slip the car to a new shop . When pulled the outer disc was WORN to the steel on one quadrant. Crazee !!! This shop did all they could with emailed photos +negotiating with Spec. Best I got was "not our fault" ...we can rebuild yours for $900 if you ship it. Rather than wait for that turn around I followed the shop's advice and ordered the McLeod RXT which years ago they also recommended for my '08 Gt500. Pedal feel to me was just fine...even around town. Again...with BIG HP clutches sometimes there is that trade off for bite & holding the grip. Chatter was reduced 75% with the RXT vs. Spec. When I lay down the hard shifts the RXT is right there to handle it. If I power shift high & hard the RXT bites & holds. I've got about 5500 miles on the RXT and I love it.
I'm not knocking Spec. Shit happens . I do believe my experience was weird and Oh-Boy ...dropping cash for 2 clutches in 18 months hurt !! Prior to this experience my 4-5 clutch swaps on different hot rods were always upgrades not due to break down. In April I'm planning to swap the upper 2.4 for the old 2.67 stocker + a 10% lower. A bit more HP is always a good thing.
C'mon McCleod ! Let's go get it :)->) !!
