I have a 2012 gt with minor mods.
Always liked the old 07-09 Shelbys and now i´m torn if i should sell my gt to get in to a 08 gt500.

Thoughts?

I'd say go for it.

Yes you can slap a blower on your car and be 'faster', but there's so much more to a Shelby than just its hp rating.

Different Motor
Different Trans
Different Body

I'd rather have an 03-04 cobra than a 2002 GT with a blower on it....:)

I had one and upgraded to a '14 TP M6 GT. I recommend you test drive one first before you pull the trigger. I usually am for helping someone go for what they like but the GT500 feels like a completely different car. Nose heavy, rolls when turning or braking, difficult clutch, and overall much less nimble than a GT. The only time I really liked it was when someone else admired it or when accelerating hard. And straight. And it was only for a few seconds at a time. Now, I enjoy the GT at all times, just not as much when accelerating. Your experience may be different. Hope this helps.

+1. I would definitely fine one to test drive first. Then base your opinions from it. I know if I had to sell or trade mine, it would be for a 13GT500. I would except a 2010-2012 too, with the power bump, but definitely a 13.
