I have heard great things about Kooks and ARH LT headers - especially that they fit great and do not kill O2 sensors. I haven't heard much about JBA. I heard that Pypes LT's kill O2 sensors unless you have them relocated, which involves welding.

Id keep the car and pay it off. Once you own the car outright with no payments come back and determine if its worth it getting into additional debt for a car that will depreciate new or old. I usually buy mustangs on the last two years before a body change. That way I have what I cobsider the best rendition of a specific year range. I had an 03 cobra and now a 2013 GT/CS. The new stang will go through several changes till the last few year where they will go out with a bang. I would not be surprised if they put the gt350/500 fenders and quarters to give you all they can from the parts bin. The 2015 and 16 will be outdated soon especially since the camaro does low 12s out the box.
So you have the best out of the s197 platform. And you will get respect from the 197 lovers. But hardly any from the new guys once it goes through changes, you will have the slowest and the ugliest from that year range. Again this is my opinion. But thats how Ford does it. Last two years with a bang.

I've owned and modified a bunch of mustangs over the years and IMO I would hold off on spending the 2600$. Don't settle for doing these mods (if your heart isn't in it for them) because they are in your current budget, IMO save till you can afford a blower. That's assuming power is your thing, if not do the cosmetic stuff you mentioned but personally I wouldn't spend the 2600 on intake/exhaust.

Well, that's a little more than just a simple intake and exhaust.

Never said anything about it being simple. I said I would save for a blower and not spend 2600 on intake/exhaust if power was what he's looking for.

My first reaction to the 2018 is it's ugly, but everyone said that about the 15+ until they saw them in the flesh. But with fuel delivery upgrades, 10 speed auto, magnetic shocks, 2018 may be worth keeping an eye on. It'll be neat to see what the aftermarket brings, hopefully fix that ugly ass front end.

I'm gonna have to start a SVT go Fund me to get into a 18' GT - Focus people lol

I've been looking at 15' GT's. Quick question....I'm likely going to not be able to swing domestic approval on GT W/ PP AND premium trim. Really capped at about $26k.

If I had to choose between the two which is the better choice? Seems like premium trim since it's much harder to add some of the creature comforts like leather and NAV and driving modes....just curious as to the experts opinions :)

I really like the Comp Orange and R Red GT!!

Depends entirely on what you would be wanting.

However, my brother is selling his Guard GT PP / Premium, and for $28-29k you could buy his. Car's loaded out with heated / cooled seats, nav, adaptive cruise, etc. You're local and could check out the car no problem :D

Read through this whole thing. Just to get it out of the way. a 2015+ for sure. I was in this same boat back when I had a 2005 GTO and was looking at putting heads, cam, intake etc on it to smoke 2011 5.0s. One simple test drive proved the newer car was light years ahead of my GTO in terms of just being smooth and feeling much much better. I could be wrong, but I think you'd find the same thing in the s550. Also, and this is just my opinion but side by side the 2015 models make the 2011 style look way dated like a dinosaur. I can't afford it right now b/c I just bought a 03 cobra but my 2012 5.0 has 62k miles and every single time I get into it I crave a 2015. The interior is also just much more sophisticated. Also yeah if you ever think you would supercharge it (do a whipple or VMP style not a Paxton) you can easily feel safe putting down 650-700whp in the s550. That could very well blow up a 2011-2014 5.0. Final thought, your $2500 investment in your current car divided over 4 years is $52.00 a month. I think your decision has been made :)

Option A: Buy the 15 + now so that in 2-3 years you'll want to get rid of it for the 2020..

Option B: Keep what you have now and in 2-3 years buy a cheap 15/16 or just buy the brand new 2020.

She's a real beast, i have the same color stang. For me what really changed the entire look of the car was:

1.) Front Boss Fascia
2.) Front Boss Splitter
3.) Roush Grill
4.) Headlight swap

Completely changed the style of the car from stock/common to a real beast.

Your car looks great, I had 2012 but now own 2015 PP Mustang Gt.....I love the 2015 much more. Drives and handles much better than my 2012. Plus love the looks and the wide ass end. Just my 2 cents. Plus who doesn't like the nicer interior and heated and cooled seats

I went through this debate recently myself. I decided to just mod my 12.

The 15+s are nice(my wife has one), but I don't personally see enough to justify the price difference you'll have.
