305/45/18 or 325/35/18 ET Street R for a 18x10 700whp Whipple Car

After searching the forum I didn't find the exact answers I was looking for. The feedback I'm getting from everyone is that the Street R performs extremely well. My only concern is fitment. For 18s they only have 305/45/18 or 325/35/18. I had the previous ET Street IIs on my upper 600 low 700whp car and they held decent at lower rolls and digs but after 2k miles they are gone haha. The consensus is that a 45 series sidewall on a 18in will run into issues. Any advice would be killer.

Thanks
Marc

Depending if that tire runs true to size or not, the 325 will bulge to much on a 18x10. I run a toyo r888 305/35/18 on a 18x11. However that tire runs wider.

I ran the 305/35/18 on my last cobra on a 18x10 with a bit of bulge but it looked good. My 305/35/18 ET Street IIs ran damn near perfect on a 18x10. I know on MT's website it says 10-12 for the Street R

Are you against the S/S?

I'll be at 700 aswell and picked up the S/S in 305/35.

I should be up and running this week. If you haven't made a purchase by then I'll give you some feed back on them.

I'm not completely opposed to it. But I have run the R888 (305/35/18 on a 18x10) and I feel like I would run that over the the S/S. The R888 hooked great at 500rwhp and had great handling characteristics. The Street R from what I have been told hook amazing on digs and lower speed rolls which is probably what the car will see more.

I've seen people having issues with the wheel spinning inside the tire with those.

Beadlocks may be needed. But Yes, I've heard they hook very well.

I originally tried to get the r888s but apparently they are no longer being made.

I've had good luck with the e85 streets in the past so I figured I'd give the s/s a try.

I had 305/35/18 r888 on saleen 18x10's. It had to much bulge for my liking. I still rocked them though.

I have a 315-35-17 S/S making 720 thru a tvs and it usually hooks 2nd gear. First you have to feather.

I had great results with the ET Street II, but I figured I'll give the Street R a shot.

Yeah, I had the exact same setup. Hard to argue with the R888 street performance.

Welp, I ordered the Street R so we shall see how it turns out.
