Hooking up at 800rwhp will be a challenge. My spring rates are 400lb fronts and 600's rear, 1/2* camber front and rear. On a cold track i have issues hooking up in second gear from a 40mph roll. Sometimes if the whole day is cold i race other guys whom also cannot hook up and we agree to start in third gear. I have been thinking about a way to delay the boost so that when us high powered cars won't blow off the tires on the hit. I need to finish my engine build so i can do some more testing.

There was one Terminator whom had around 750rwhp and he pedaled the car over 1/2th the distance because all the tq he had and because he didn't run the right tires. I saw him race a few cars in which they left him at the start and some of them he was able to catch at the end of the run. I think he was in the mid 160's.

I will only be making in the neighborhood of about 700 on E by then so you will be much higher than me. Also it will be my first 1/2 mile event so I'll need to learn the ropes
It will be fun to see how the car performs at speed and how it compares to others.
As far as brakes go I have a 14" brembo set up that should haul the car down nicely.

If you just want to race random people just line up like everyone else.

I like to have close races. The events i have been to people are required to put their flywheel hp on their windows. I have found many people have no idea to translate their crank and rear wheel hp numbers. I remember one guy in a GTR, his window numbers were 550crank, asked what he dyno'd at which he said was 525rwhp.

I ask people what they dyno at and their weight. I figure out the weight and hp difference. Example, I was at 600rwhp and 3650lbs, a ZL1 was 705rwhp and 4260lbs. He is roughly 600lbs heavier. I know for every 100lbs you need 15hp to have the same acceleration. So i would figure 6 x 15 = 90rwhp. So if i added 600lbs to my car i would need 90rwhp, the ZL1 was at 705 so he should be faster than me. We raced and i beat him by bus lengths, his talked to me later and asked if i had nitrous, he did say "when you hit third it seemed like you hit the nitrous button".

3650lbs 600hp
600lbs 90hp
4250lbs 690hp

The ZL1 owner did say he was fighting heat soak, was wondering why everyone wanted to race him. I told him the GM claims the ZL1 is supposed to be the baddest Camaro to date. He later sold it and bought a GTR.

I run half mile events and trap 168-170 constantly on my old mild boost setup. Usually pegging off the rev limiter in 4th and costing the last 100+ feet. It's a turbo car though.

The gt500 in the video was making about 800 rwhp.

What gears are you running, i am running 3.27's and go thru the traps at about 7000rpms?

I've been hooking 800rwhp no issues even on cold roads. Just Upgraded IRS, 3.27s, and 17" Mickey Thompson ET Streets SS 26" tire. Are drag radials allowed in this event?

... Hooking is the name of the game, even in speed events. More time wide open throttle with traction will yield higher speeds.

If you have to pedal, you're eating up hundreds of feet of space

To run the 1/2 mile or mile events the car needs to be setup for it. Cooling mods are a must whether you are inn 4th of 5th gear. My car is 595hp/598tq. I have done 158mph in 3 events held by two different groups. The biggest unknown secret is my hood design. Those that have bought my hood will be surprised how their cars will compare to those that do not have the hood.

My build is very simple, forged internals, 2.3 whipple at 19lbs with 97 cobra cams that are timed, intake is 108lc and exhaust is at 114lc. Long tubes, magnaflow cat back, Dragon TB, jlt Cold air and tuned by Wildponymotorsorts.com.

To help so that i do not have to shiftb into 4th i have 3.27 gears and go thru the traps at 7200rpms. 3.08 might be better. I have won several races because other cars had to shift at around 150mph and i didn't and won by about 1/2 car. I have beat 700rwhp e85 CTSV's which jumped the start and i had 3 cars behind, made up a little ground in second but once i hit third i caught him, shifted to fort and put several cars on him.

I beat 770rwhp GT500's, raced two different 5.0's with paxtons on them and beat them by 1 car of two. Both cars were 650rwhp vehicle. Raced a Viper with full exhaust and we were back and forth for the lead, he had to shift before the end and i didn't. Won by 1/2 car. Raced several twin turbo Porshe's also with mid 600rwhp and beat them by a car of two.

At the below event they go by flywheel hp, i was at about 550rwhp, M122 swap at the tiime. In the side by side race i had a short in the wiring and the car would shut off even though it looks like i missed a shift. The Burgundy C6 vette i raced was 500rwhp, put several cars on him, especially when he had to shift at the end and i didn't.

Nice vid!

just finished the Indy airportattack. First time testing it out since new vmp and ton of other mods. Soon as I learn to launch properly, I'm betting on 170. Engine Max's at 192 degrees, and by the time I'm back in the pits it's at 185 or so. The pure ethanol seems to be helping. Next events at French lick for #wannagofast and we are going to try and lose some weight and few other little things.

What are your mods and hp/tq?

American eagle headers. Fore fuel rails with aeroemotive "ghost" fuel pump. Gt500 intake. Next up is figuring out how to lower the intake temps. Been a steady 102-112 and was told going lower would help

Hp is 685 and I can't remember the torque. More than enough is what I'm finding at the start

How do you plan on lowering intake and iat2's? I'm getting ready to do a wannagofast in november in dallas. My biggest hurdle I believe will be the intake temps. I'm also a vmp blower with e85.
Good solid runs!
