^^ Yes it is possible, a bit more work but possible. It wasn't worth the work for me, or the added weight of keeping another ECU around lol. 10lbs is 10lbs ahaha

So, what all factory wiring did you keep if any? I have a dominator that I bought recently and am about ready to start installing. I'm particularly interested in your install because it is a 98. I have heard that 98's have a lot of the accessories or ancillary devices that run through the factory ECU. I only think this because I read it somewhere; I just want to get a plan together before I start ripping and tearing. I would also like to achieve if possible, a clean install under the hood. Do you have any advice or suggestions that would be helpful?

I do not post too much, I am mainly a lurker. This is a pretty big job and I really wanted to come out nice. I'm so sick of the SCT run around. Enough said.

I have a 98 cobra with a Percision turbo 7675. Along with the dominator I have'04 Cobra Heads from Foxlake racing and I have a t400from ATI to go in at the same time.

Any and all help is appreciated

Tim.

I have no idea WHY someone decided to move my post in an established thread to another separate new thread. I guess searching through pages of fragmented data is entertaining for some....I digress.

I left the factory PCM in place, basically just took out the engine harness. It's much easier to install and get running this way. Just have to decide what you want to do.

I'd like to remove it, i'm just not sure what all is spidered into the stock PCM. I'm talking stupid stuff like turn signals, pwr windows, etc... I plan on ditching the factory gauges; my car is so Whored out now that i think it would be overall better to replace with new stuff. I like all of the digital dashes out there, as well as the trim pieces I've seen. not sure which one ill choose but that conversation is one that needs to happen after I figure out what all stays and goes.

Would you be able to post up some of the pics, I seen some of yours in other threads so if thats all you have, don t worry about it. Id like to see the ugly "in process" pics of the install, if available.

If I were you, I'd go with an XFI setup. You have more data ports, can run a bigger dash display and the XFI is serviceable. The Holly is all "potted" and if something ever failed on it, you can't send it in for repair.

Well, its kind of too late for that, I bought the Dominator about 4 months ago but, haven't had time to install it. I pretty much like all of the Stand alone EFI systems for one reason or another; I liked the Holley software the most so, it won out.

I work for myself doing engineering consulting, PLC programming, and design work, as well as operating small precision fab shop. My time can be consumed at a moments notice so, I haven't had much time to devote to my car. It's frustrating because along with the Dominator I have a new TH400 from ATI, a new set of fox lake ported '04 cobra heads, and a bunch of other stuff just collecting dust waiting to be installed. That's is sorta changing now so, here i am.

I do appreciate the time and hard work everyone has put into documenting a lot of the things on the net I'm looking to accomplish with this project.

Hardly anyone runs XFI on mod motors, and the Dominator has I think 40 inputs and 40 outputs. Holley is taking the game over along with MS3. It's the simplest to install and the simplest to tune. The closed loop fueling capability and the ability to transfer the learn fuel table to base fuel table makes it a breeze even for novice tuners. There is constant updates to both firmware and software with major capabilities added with each revision. I absolutely love my system.

I'll post pics today when I get home..

But basically the holley setup is awesome. My car made 807rwhp and 670ftlbs with only 16psi and 16* of timing and stopping the pull at 7k due to alternator issues.. It was still climbing.. My car is looking to make in the 850's next week.. Def go with Holley it's a awesome ECU setup.
