Still working on the tune with Lund but I finally figured out my boost leak thanks to a little help (and a smoke test) from midnight performance houston. Timing was 12.5-14 (12.5 when boost comes in, ramped up to 7400 RPM) and sent the log to Lund and hopefully we can squeeze some more timing out of it and fix some shift points.

The humidity was ~65% and the temp in the 80s but I ran
[email protected] with a 1.990 60'

corrected [email protected].

MPH finally getting closer to where it should be right? I have been looking around and for a bone stock motor, stock exhaust the MPH seems like it is getting close to right. I expect 127 max once the tune is figured out.

The negative DAs will come this winter and I want to be ready. The launching is a problem but the 3.15 gears and stock stall really are a challenge to launch. I am shifting into 5 right before the traps, 285/35/18 nitto 555rs I thought would be better for the car but I should have factored in the MPH at end of track. What tires do you guys use running 120-130 traps with 3.15 gears?

My car traps 130+ and I run a 275/50/15 MT S/S on the track and the street.

Stock 3.15 gear and stock stall.

my car ran 111 before and 124 after; your car run 118 before and 132 after. +13.5 mph for me (corrected) and +14 mph for you. We will see when the air gets good here if I can match your +14 MPH. Yes, I could add some mods but otherwise it seems about right to me with a bone stock exhaust, intake, etc.

OP- your car doesn't see 5th gear with a 3.15 ratio- if you are feeling 4 changes 1 of them is the converter locking up- unless hitting 5th just before the traps was a typo-and you meant 4th gear.

You're not shifting to 5th with 3.15 gears. Regardless what tire you're running. You're shifting to 4th and you're only doing that because you blow the tires off with a 1.90 60'. Even with a stock converter, you should be 1.70 60'. With 3.31 gears you shift to 4th at the line. To use all of 4th, you'd need 4.30 gears. Lose the "shittos' and buy a quality drag radial (M/T or Hoosier) check YouTube for the basics- Tommy H.O. Has straight forward basics videos

thanks, sorry I should have reviewed my videos closer. It must be shifting to 4th. I have been drag racing for 15 years but not with an auto before... lots to learn still about auto launching vs. slicks in a 6 speed manual.
I looked into Tommy H.O. on youtube and see no videos about launching at the 1/4 mile.

I will get rid of the "shittos" soon but so far no real advice here on launching. Thanks for the post though.

I have been reading into the M/T S/S radials though so that will likely be my next tire.

I would/did go with the MT radial pro...same 8psi only a vortech set up with full exhaust, torque booster kit, and a stall. The car ran 10.8 at 125mph on my first and only pass launching around 2200ish rpm's and 18psi in the tire on 93 octane.

Great info Jtip. Thank you. I am seeing a lot of the same, get the MT ET Street S/S and run at ~20 psi in the rears with a good burnout and my 60 should improve. Stock stall though I still think will limit me. I do not think I am spinning much at all, I do have videos and it is really hard to tell.

Do you drive to/from the track with the MT Radial Pro? I used to have Hoosier QTP's on my trans am (last drag car) and it was NOT something I would drive on the streets with regularly just in case it rained. These look pretty similar to that.

Yes I do and have never had any issues. My track set up is SVE 17x4.5 in the front and 15x10 in the back. My tuner lives 30 miles from the track one way and does the same thing on his 14 TT GT that runs 9's. I wouldn't drive around town regularly but to and from the track even if you have to get on the highway they are fine.

Sounds right to me. Sorry didn't see your thread earlier.

It is my understanding that keeping cats on a forced induction Coyote is leaving 30+ rwhp on the table, so more than likely you would be trapping closer to 130 without them.

I am in the same boat as you, stock exhaust, running 126 mph at altitude. And despite what everyone says, a stock weight Coyote with a centrifigal blower, stock exchaust, and A6 will not 60' to save it's life. My car will spin the tires on the 1-2 shift, but not on the holeshot on a prepped track.

Mine does the same thing. Best 60' I ever had was a 1.84 and it chirps the 1-2 and 2-3. If the prep is bad, it will spin on the 1-2.
