I used to hate my .50 DE because it would eject the casings straight back into my forehead. There would be a tight grouping of little black oily half circles right between my eyebrows when I was done.

Here's a pic I got of my (then) 15-year-old son shooting our S&W .500 at the range. Didn't really find the recoil all that bad, maybe because of the compensator. That said, as you can see in the pic, don't let any of your fingers cross the cylinder boundary. You can lose a digit...

That's funny. I've seen a few people stove pipe them. With a ported barrel, it creates quite the light show.

I have one with an 8" barrel with no compensater and it doesn't kick that bad. You have to keep in mind the mass of the gun. It is heavy as hell. There is no way could you be accurate 1 handed and anyone who would try would be dumb. Grip it right and you can shoot several rounds before you fatigue.

My brother has one with the 8" barrel. It's really easy to shoot, I've probably shot it 10 times over the years. Surprised by all these OMG posts.

Shot this a few months back at a range when the owner let me give it a shot. Just stupid power lol. Its got the cool factor that's for sure and that's the only reason I would own it.

It's because people think it's funny to lend a thin wrist new shooter a .500 caliber revolver and watch them fail. Remember, we are dealing with very smart people here.

Most people who have handled larger calibers will be able to transition into this easy. Snub-nose is a little different.

After the movie FASTER, there was short lived dwindling supply of Alaskan Redhawk .454 Casull. Everyone thought it would be a cool firearm to carry because Dwayne Johnson used it. Lmao
