Has anyone or the aftermarket made any headway adding an S550 IRS into an S197?
Good question. I will probably do a Griggs setup as I have BMR rear upper, lowers, and panhard bar. I want to do mostly autocross or HPDEs with my car. I might do a strip run or two just to cross that off the list.

Cortex racing is already testing the IRS in the s197.

My wish list:

*More aftermarket upper grille choices that accept an emblem for 13-14 cars. I am switching to a Boss 302 Grille because too many people had the CDC GT500 upper. Also, tired of people asking me what happened to my grille, and when I will be installing a new one lol.

*A GT500 style rear spoiler for 11-14 cars that has provisions for the factory backup camera. I love my backup camera, especially for backing into the water box, but love the look of the GT500 spoiler.

*An aftermarket shifter for 13-14 A6 cars. Not sure how this would work, but would be cool if it somehow incorporated select shift into the motions of manually upshifting and downshifting like a ratchet shifter. Pushing the select shift button doesn't do it for me.

These are awesome requests! Thanks!

Hi Jim,
We don't really have any plans to offer that. It at least a 10K upgrade and probably more like 15K all in with parts and labor which is difficult to justify since performance is unlikely to be better. The one we are doing is for a customer that don't care about money and sees it as mostly a novelty.
Regards,
Filip

-------------------------------------------------------

Saw a thread and pic on svtperformance.com about putting 2015+ IRS in an S197.
Interested in doing this and wondering if there will be any kind of kit (or even templates)
for pieces to modify the frame.

Would have you do it (if willing), but I am in NJ and it would be a nightmare to get my car out there.

Thanks

Jim

two styling things that are not available in the aftermarket i always thought would be good.

A) plug and play '13-'14 style LED tail lights for the '10-'12 so you don't have to pay a ton of money and then use the filler panels

B) a front splitter for the Boss/CS front fascia that is similar to the street splitter but extends all the way across. the LS and World Challenge ones are too big and I don't like the anchors

One other little thing that would be nice is a simple way to get the power to your charge ports to turn off when the car turns off, so I don't have to keep plugging in/un-plugging my radar detector

Also a larger gurney flap for the GT500 style replica rear spoiler that is designed to fit over the "fake" non-removable gurney flap. You know what I'm talking about, the tiny flap on the edge of the fake spoiler that is part of the whole piece. Being able to put the carbon fiber one over that would be nice

These are all great ideas and I agree with all of them - thanks!

Oil pump gear, cs sprocket, needs a watts link, mgw shifter, stainless clutch line, upgraded clutch, and upgraded rods. Those are what it should have. The rest is stuff to make it destroy. I'm doing them all.
