If I had a choice between an 05/06 GT or a 17 GT not sure which one I would take. Realistically, I will never have that choice but will never give up on that dream!

Not really a fan of either car (fire away boys!), but I'd just flip a coin and take whatever is given. Then sell it. Lol

Kind of funny, I prefer a manual and like the looks of the homage better but money aside I'd still take the 17.

The new one is basically softcore porn, all you do is look at it and can't do anything with it other then drive it and pay for its new diapers now and then. Buying an old one then modding the sh*t out of it just seems better in every way. If you're going to own something like that the new one and can write it off if you're rich enough and actually go beat on the thing to the brink of breaking, maybe i'd see a little bit more diversity. That is if you call parking it forever or putting 10 miles on it a week or taking it to a track and freaking out over the repair bill to fix a paint chip that costs as much as a Terminator a worthy buy. New one, creature comfort icecream getting i'm rich panty mobile. Old, throw money into it, make it a panty wetter.

Wut? You realize the 05-06 is fetching over $300K at the moment right?

Nothing to do with the price of the car its purely one you can still mod and not feel like your fu*king it up vs other you can't touch for 10 more years. Even being if it was 300k and you can afford it take that extra 200k and turn it into another badGT that does nearly 300mph in the mile or having fun street racing, older is better period because if your going to pay out the ass for something you might as well make it your own. When the new one is considered old then it might be the better or at least until they turn it into an electric piece of s.. and go the way of the GTR in terms of modify ability. Its not even likely companies will even throw money into doing some type of aftermarket support for it because with more technology they take away from people being able to do what they want to it, they built it for them not us. Ford fking sucks now.

I'll take the '05/'06 because I like the simplicity of the design. Blown V8, rear wheel drive, no cruise, etc... Like others have said, something you can work on. On top of that I don't have to win a popularity contest with Ford & audition to purchase one.

Anyone who would take the 05/06 over the new one aside from price is nuts. The 17 is far and away a better car in every way possible. Not saying I would not have an 05/06 or would ever turn one down, but you can not compare these two cars against each other.
