Off-road H + KR mufflers = drone ?

So I'm planning on buying the vmp 123 pack for my stock 07 gt500. I thought I would get an off-road h installed with it for the sound and power. I've been reading the kr's are very loud with an off-road x/h, which im fine with. I'm just curious if these mufflers continue to have zero drone with off-road h as that's all that matters to me. For reference I had a c6 with 1 7/8 long tubes, no cats, and the stock dual mode mufflers that were essentially straight through when open. Shouldn't be louder than that right? Thanks.

Don't know about a Condor, but the KR mufflers drone slightly on my 3V.

I currently have zero drone with the kr mufflers and stock mid-pipe. Just wondering if removing the cats will change that much.

Call me crazy, but I absolutely love the sound of my 2011 STOCK mufflers. With the lethal off road H pipe they sound absolutely killer when WOT, but are fairly quiet during normal driving. NO DRONE.

A simple swap of the over the axle pipes to 2011+ would let you not only run 11-14 Stock mufflers but a better choice of mufflers as well.

Nice, yeah I've got my stock mufflers just in case the off-road h and krs are just too crazy.

Installed off road H pipes with KR's and it was WAY to loud for me. Changed out the KR's for my set of M-5230-SVT1's and the sound was perfect for me(no drone).

I bought a set of FR500S mufflers and a leftover old/new stock Shelby H pipe. No loss of cats in the transfer & most excellent sound of any exhaust system I've ever owned & ZERO drone.

Been there done that before w/out cats on a prior Stang- way too loud for my tastes. I imagine w/the FR500S', it would be unbelievably loud. The drone was also unacceptable.

To my ear, the loss of cats & potential performance gains just ain't worth it.

I did not drive the car with the off road and KR's, just to loud. However, with cats the KR's sound great with no drone.

Thanks guys, think I'll just keep the factory mid pipe. High flow cats don't seem to have much of a purpose and off-road will likely be more trouble than it's worth.

I have shorty headers, gutted cat hpipe, kr's and am cammed. I love it. No drone at all. Get compliments literally every time I take her out. I'm 49yrs old so definitely anti-drone and wouldn't want anything ridiculously stupid loud.

Hey man just thought I would throw my 0.02 in as I come from a very similar background as you..

Used to have an 08 c6 that I bought stock and ended up with an A&A supercharger, LT headers, factory dual mode exhaust, ORX, M2W switch, and a few other mods.

My current car is a 12 svtpp gt500 with the Vmp 123 pack, Lethal ORX, factory exhaust (I believe these are the KRs you are referencing but I could be wrong). I do not have headers on the shelby but may down the road.

Granted the vette was making more power and had headers but in my opinion the vette was much louder across the board and did drone a bit, but I do not mind drone and like loud exhaust setups. The shelby does not drone near as much but it is there ever so slightly but in my opinion is not there enough to be an annoyance in any way. In my opinion I like the vette exhaust note better but again I like louder exhausts..

One thing I will warn you of if you're thinking of going to an OR setup is that VMP will not disable the O2 CEL. They will tune for it and make the car run properly but you will have a CEL on. Due to this I chose to give lund a call and they had no problem solving this issue for me so I ended up switching to a lund tune and have no regrets with the switch. I had nothing against the VMP tune I was running before but Lund was able to solve my issue. Just something to consider because you will have to pay for a whole new tune rather than an update..

Any other questions just let me know!

Lund CLEARLY states that any tune delivered as an off road tune is to ONLY be used for off road use. Use by anyone on the street in a non emissions compliant configuration is assuming ALL liability for use in that manner.

Lund easily offers anyone a street legal tune for use with street legal exhaust.
