Looking for feedback on the JBA 3" catback exhaust.

Currently running ARH 1 7/8 with full Bassani 3" O/R exhaust. I also have resonators on this set-up. One of the axlebacks has developed a really bad rattle inside that is driving me nuts. I've reached out to Bassani to see if I can just get the axle backs.

While I wait for a response, I'm researching other options. I've been thinking about going with an ARH O/R H-pipe and the 3" JBA set-up.

Thought about driving some stainless screws into the noisy axleback for a short term fix. LOL!

Any input appreciated.

I might consider them too. I see they make a 3" H-pipe too.

Any feedback on Stainless works?
It's my car in the 3" H-pipe vid. 100% American made and no complaints. I like their long retro mufflers, both under car and in rear near tips.
They were lighter than a kit my buddy replaced.
I thought we've heard poor quality concerns at JBA, so with my experience at SW they'd get my money.

I like the retro set-up, but they only list them for 2011-14. I'm guessing they would stick out the rear a little further on my 2009.

Good question and sorry I don't know as much on the earlier cars but I know when there's a will there's a way, hopefully they have some answers.

Keep in mind that 3" OTA pipes can sometimes be hard to keep from rattling on the underside of the car. They're so big that there's little room to adjust them into a position that they don't rattle. Just my experience.

I had checked the entire system for proper clearance. All was good. I also tapped the entire exhaust with a rubber mallet and found the rattle in the driver's side axleback.

I've had a full 3" Shelby/JBA system on my car for about 4 years, the system was properly installed and it tuck/fits nice, no rattles.

There was quality issues near the end of JBA owned and Pertronix purchased, but I have not heard any complaints in recent history.

FWIW - I purchased my 3" system from Shelby Perf. Parts back when the optional Super Snake 700 exhaust was sold by Shelby with the "SHELBY by JBA" tips, JBA was still building the systems. I did not install the system until about a year or two after Pertronix took over...............I had problems with my X-pipe fit (jigged wrong).....It was UNBELIEVABLE, I called Pertronix (begged for mercy), not expecting any sort of free return or discount and they asked me when I purchased it? I said about 1-1/2 years ago when it was JBA, they asked if it had been installed, I said yes, right now (I was calling from the exhaust shop), they said return the pipe, they will inspect it and they would call me. I sent it back (my expense), they called me about 2 weeks later and said they were sending me a new 3" X for no charge, not even shipping. <<I can't think of many vendors who would do that, especially when they did not own the product when it was originally!!

Pertronix/JBA does make an H-pipe for the Mustang GT, both 2-1/2" and 3" for LT headers, I am pretty sure (but not positive) that the MGT H can modded for use in the GT500 exhaust system. I have all of the parts here, but have not done a side-by-side comparo. It would be nice to have a "quick change" X to H and H to X with just four band clamps, that is my goal.

Now I feel like I am REALLY losing my mind!!!

In my post above I said that the 3" JBA has been on my car for about "4 years", below is documentation that is has been longer than that!! It has been since 2011 and before!!

This also shows how it tucks with FRPP shorty's..............

I had the tips pulled in by moving the mufflers forward, the first picture below looking down does not look "in" far enough IMHO, but from the side view, they are in the right position for me since they are angle cut and the rear valance is also at an angle...........

I've had the JBA cat back for a long time and love the sound. Just put SW LT's with an o/r H and haven't driven it much. But was a good sound, LT's gave it that extra growl I wanted.

Car is currently on stands with the KB on the work bench. Needs sent back and rebuilt. I found a small oil leak. Lack of time and a 2.5 yr old son really took all my car motivation away.

I was able to order just the one axleback from Bassani. Cost me $300, but a lot cheaper than a new system.
