I guess you've never been to, or been related to, anyone from Texas.

You don't mess with a mans property, his family, or his home. But that's also the South in general. I've heard a few stories here and there about thieves "disappearing" after they get caught. No idea if it's true but.. around here? Could be.

My moms family is from the south. I get it. I agree that If anyone puts myself or my family in harms way I absolutely side with using whatever means necessary to eliminate that threat. I just personally wouldn't shoot someone who's trying to break into my car in a public parking lot. It's only a car... As much as I take pride in most of my possessions they're only possessions. They don't mean more to me than someone's life however worthless that life appears to be.

I love this state! Yes we can use deadly force to protect property.

A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property:

(1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41;  and

(2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:

(A) to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime;  or

(B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property;  and

(3) he reasonably believes that:

(A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means;  or

(B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.

a guy breaking into my house at night. Yup! Shots fired! But anything short of that? Seems like a huge headache to go through. I just rather deal with the insurance company and all the issues involved in that nightmare than the even slight potential that I may be charged with something.

abso****inglutely. I catch some sonofabitch messing with my vehicles and I am armed, shoot to kill, **** that warning shot bullshit

I'm sorry that a piece of metal is worth more to you than the potential of you being drawn through a massive legal battle to prove that you had the right to do what you did. Seems like a lose lose for you in that situation.

Are you referring to criminal or civil action? The prosecutor/grand jury decide pretty quickly if it was justified or if they want to pursue criminal charges/indictment and try you in court.

You have immunity from civil liability if the shooting is ruled justified.

http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/CP/htm/CP.83.htm

C/P:

Sec. 83.001. CIVIL IMMUNITY. A defendant who uses force or deadly force that is justified under Chapter 9, Penal Code, is immune from civil liability for personal injury or death that results from the defendant's use of force or deadly force, as applicable.

Added by Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 235, Sec. 2, eff. Sept. 1, 1995.

Amended by:

Acts 2007, 80th Leg., R.S., Ch. 1 (S.B. 378), Sec. 4, eff. September 1, 2007.

Hell I personally think we should go back to the Wild West. Everyone wears a bigass revolver and shit gets settled right then and there. You'd be a lot less likely to take another man's shit or do any of the other crap people get away with on a daily basis if it meant you might get your ass shot over it.

Criminal.

I know all states are different in their laws, but I can't see the police rolling up after a car thief is shot and killed and the car owner getting an atta boy and a pat on the back. They're going to be looking into it further. Depending on your state you may be cleared of any wrong doing. I would just like to avoid escalating the situation all together. All I'm saying.

I see you know nothing about Texas or Texas law. Perhaps you should shut you pie hole until you do

I have a 2014 SHO with 2 kids in car seats. I am 6'1 and both fit behind me when I drive but the bigger one is a bit cramped (he is 5) so he sits behind my wife. We also own a minivan for longer trips than just around town but the trunk space is huge if we decided to use it for a longer trip it would suffice.

I just installed the tune and it is a huge difference in feel. For a big boat it was already rather quick and now it is even more so, I am very happy with it.

15+ Edge Sport WITH 2.7TT is amazing. My wife has one and she loves it, as do I. The things are as fast 0-60 as any stock 2v or 3v 4.6 GT, when in sport mode. The AWD system is great and ours hovers around 26.5 MPG COMBINED.
