Not sure if these are new or debated before but smurfing around youtube I found these 2 vids:

First one is installation of a shifter support kit from Blowfish Racing:

Their website shows the item with a more detailed description:

https://www.blowfishracing.com/driv...00-mustang-tr6060-shifter-support-kit-v2.html

The 2nd vid is of a gentleman with a 2012 GT500 and he talks about having a "hybrid" synchro installed in his TR6060 and it solved his grind/lockout issue in his car.

Now I believe the TR6060 in a 13/14 GT500 has updated internals compared to previous trans in earlier GT500's but if our trans doesn't incorporate this "hybrid" synchro could this be the magic fix to get rid of the grind/lockout????

I don't believe that installing a MGW shifter is a "guaranteed" fix for the grind/lockout. I've heard some members here installed one and they still get the odd lockout/grind (usually at the worst times when you want that shift).

An MGW will not fix blown synchros, which could be the result of missed shifts prior to the install.

If you don't like the shifting, first step is fluid swap and MGW Gen 2 IMO.
I personally had a few 2nd gear lock-outs but otherwise all stock was good as long as I had a slight lift. A true powershift 1-2 upsets the chassis anyway, that's direct advice from Evan Smith when he was at Norwalk NMRA watching Lund and I race cars with 600 and 700 miles on them :)

I wonder if that CHE brace will work with afkt K members (like BMR), no point getting the brace if it only fits stock K member.

The more I look at that Blowfish brace the more I might want to give it a shot. Granted I like my stock shifter (now that I am using a KR rear mount and solid bushings from Revan on the forks I don't see a need for another shifter other than the grind/lockout issue, I still have that the odd time).

The only thing that bugs me about the BF brace is adding weight again to the car since I'm kinda on a quest to drop some pounds from it, OTOH I do like the fact that it incorporates a safety loop for the driveshaft so that's a +.

Anyways, FTM I'm not going to worry about it I have my plans for the car later this year into next and I'm going to take care of them first before I deal with this issue on the car.

The gentleman in the vid is right..................we pay good hard earned money for this car and we demand the ability to shift this thing properly without any stupid issues.................it's a damn shame the car has this problem.

MGW, fliud, braces etc WILL NOT FIX THE GRIND/LOCKOUT ISSUE! This is my opinion after my personal research and experience. These things are bandaids, other than the MGW which removes the main issue being the rear rubber mounts that allow a lot of flex, however a previously badly damaged trans will still have issues internally.

I bought my 2012 from Carmax with less than 7,000 miles on it. Hadn't had a Mustang in 11 months. When I left the lot, I made a left turn to the main road and slammed 1/2 while spinning at high RPM's, only to miss the shift with a grind and lockout. I 100% felt embarrassed, like I lost my touch. Next day, 2 friends in the car, same thing, they laughed.
I told them the same thing happened when I bought it and my buddy in the backseat googled and found this issue.
I took it to Hansel Ford, showed them what it was doing and dropped it off. They replaced all the bad parts under the powertrain warranty and when I left there I made the highest RPM power shift 1-2 and it was butter. I then ordered the MGW and never shifted hard with the stock shifter again. Installed the MGW into a perfectly good trans and for the next 6k miles of track time I never had another issue, ever.

My 2014 has the slightest same issue, I'll take it to Ford, fix the internals, then order the "fix", in my opinion. It doesn't lock me out but on 2 passes there was a slight kink heard/felt. I will be able to duplicate it with the tech at Ford, it'll be fixed under warranty, then the shifter swap.

If you have this issue, I urge you to fix the internals, then swap shifters

Uh....wtf?

GT500 50K
Synchro to fix 1-2 issue -$1500
Moment when you try to row that 1-2 shift during that sweet industrial park burnout and you realize you started in second gear-$$$priceless.

19 minutes that should have been 3.....

My 2011 had the trans completely overhauled under powertrain warranty. Still ground 2nd. Installed MGW much improved, redline D4 more improvement. With my WOT box, I can run to redline, no lift shift no problems. Plus the engine stays under boost during the shift so power is immidiate when you let the clutch out.

This brace does look interesting. CHE from what I can tell makes great stuff.

Awesome real world experience. That's why I bought it, in addition to drag strip launch consistency.
I think the no lift will also potentially help longevity in WOT blasts.
A 2-step is always risky on valvetrain, but I don't plan to use it too often.
The no lift shifting on the other hand..... :)
