Who has changed their upper control arm bushings? Specifically the differential side bushing.

I'm going to have to do mine on my 11 soon. Curious to see what presses or other tools anyone used to successfully press out the old bushing and install the new one.

For one, the diff bushing is split currently. It needs to be replaced anyways. The one at the chassis side I'm sure will soon follow so might as well replace it too.

Second, I'm not down for dropping $400+ on an adjustable upper and new mount. Plus I'm not convinced it's even necessary to do one.

Yuck lol....

Well we'll see how it goes, I'll probably tackle it in a few weeks.
Yeah man it was a pain lol. We had to replace the sleeve itself because when we installed our new rear end we put the sleeve in a tad too far. It was fine with the stock upper control arm, but when we installed our Bmr it was off. Tried to bang it from the inside out but then rounded the edge and our bushing wouldn't fit in properly anymore( we had an aftermarket poly bushing)

I hole sawed the old one out, used a wire wheel bit to clean out the shell, lubed the poly one up, pushed it about half way in by hand, then used a mallet to knock it in the rest of the way.

The chassis side one if fighting me a little though. I hole sawed the core out but getting the last bit of bushing material out is taking longer then I'd like.

So, I got the chassis side bushing out and the shell cleaned up. But, the bushing included in the kit does NOT fit the control arm, it is too small. In addition, the inner sleeve is too small so the factory bolt does not fit it either.

I'll be calling Prothane on Monday. Kit 6-314-BL

Spent around 170 this past weekend for upper arm and bracket from bmr . Seems like a better idea to replace both and have no more wheel hop to me .

Well I would have had both bushings replaced for $35 if Prothane sized the control side one correctly....

The best part.... they don't seem to care.... they wouldn't even hear what I had to say and just kept telling me to go through the vendor.....

Now I have a non adjustable upper arm going in just because I don't have the time to wait with the car down any longer.
