Signs of SVT Performance pack on 2011-2012 GT500.

I am currently looking at 2012 GT500’s and I want the performance pack. I would like to know what are some signs to look for that till it is a performance pack car? I have heard many different things like stripe size and wheels but I looked at one that appeared to have the wheels but had what I think are the wider stripes. How would I tell? Thank you for any help.

If it had pp rims with wide stripes then it’s probably a non pp GT500. If it has the pp rims and skinny stripes then it’s a pp GT500. That’s usually how you tell mostly by the skinny tripes. If it has a stripe delete and has the pp rims then check the gearing ratio. The pp GT500 had 3.55 while the non pp have 3.73. I believe the suspension is a bit different too

Look at the shocks and struts PP have red one

If it's a factory shifter it will have a plain white cue ball knob as pp cars only had this one. The rear spoiler "should" have a gurney flap with a raised edge that supposedly gives more rear downforce as well.

Ok. The one I looked at had the thicker strips I think. How do I check the gear ratio? Ford say the PP cars have the 3.73. Also if all the PP have red shocks and struts then that may be the best way to find out.

Ah I hadn't tried it in a while. I just tried one, and it did not work.

We have our own window sticker/invoice look-up.

Yeah I was about to say I thought ford made window sticker look up a dealer only thing.

Yea your right. Non pp had 3.55 and pp had 3.73.

Why do you want the pp over the non pp?

A window sticker would be the more accurate way to tell, any Ford dealer should be able to print one for you..

I had the same question when I bought my car... Take a look at this, one of the guys had all the items listed that the PP has... including the BB code...

Check out the rear axle tube, pax side, for a paper tag. It will have the gear ratio on it if it's still there.

Look for BB on the door code sticker under axle. That is 3.73 gears meaning it came from the factory as a PP. All of the parts and stripes can be added or deleted by prior owners.
