New info. Fords contract has every purchaser sign and notorize do not sell clause for 24 months. If they want to back out prior to 24 months they can sell it back to the dealer for what they paid.

Cena sold his for 2 million bucks. He is an asshat and I hope he gets clubbed in court!

He will.

Porsche and Ferrari do the same thing and have set a precedent of the manufacturer winning in court.

Become a joke? You must have forgotten how it woke Le Man and almost did it 1,2,3 again. Everyone that’s driven/owned/reviewed it that I’ve seen love it, EcoBoost and all.

Probably 99% of the population has never seen a lemans race or can name any of the drivers if it could save their life. There are so many supercars that sell for more than the GT that dont even compete in endurance races. The reality is no one cares, if the car has exotic looks and is fast people will buy it.

This lawsuit is a slap in the face to blue oval fans. Ford is starting to think they have the same prestige as ferrari, they dont. The 05/06 GT didn't have all these controversies and restrictions.

That doesn’t take away from what Ford has done with the GT. Most people I meet couldn’t tell a Cobra from a Prius, doesn’t lessen its value. Ford had accomplished a lot and I find it funny people look at the GT and even with all it has done and can do and how amazing of a car it is and say “it needs a v8”. Ford does have some prestige, and they weren’t trying to do anything with the 05/06 GT besides a retro.

I hope Ford wins.
Mainly because its just another celeb that thinks the rules and laws of society do not apply to them. Fords marketing and contracts with the GT are a separate issue.
A contract is a contract, he broke it, hope he gets nailed.

Exactly, whether it’s a lease or movie deal, a contract is legally binding.

Cena's career is winding to an end which might give credence to financial issues. Plenty of main event wrestlers made great money during their prime but a lot of them also went broke when they were relegated to mid card or practically jobber status. A good financial planner is all they needed for a comfortable life post ring.

Neither did Ferrari with the F40.

Looks like i was mistaken. Apparently there was a 2 year no resale clause on the 05/06 GT as well. Can you confirm?

ferrari and ford are 2 different realms. Not sure how the comparison applies.

Ford is trying to protect its fans from flippers.

so ford selling the car to youtube and instagram personalities was a better strategy than allowing the free market to determine who buys a car and for how much?

There was not a 2 year no resale clause on the 05/06 FGT.

How do you say they're not comparable? They race in the same series. The FGT and the Ferraris are both handbuilt. Etc.

At the end of the day, Ford didn't build the FGT; Multimac did.

Ford did not have a no resale clause for the first GT run, but they did have what some would consider an exorbitant dealer mark up, which ultimately limited sales at the end of the run, as well as put off loyal ford customers because of a few less than scrupulous dealers. I know. I walked the walk. I don't have a problem with dealer markup per say, but Ford learned that halo cars needed to put out to the public differently than they did it in 05-06. I will buy another ford I'm sure, but it is no longer the only choice on the table. Brand loyalty was not ruined, but I think clearly weakened.

At the end of the 2006 MY, they were selling at a discount. Not sure what you're talking about.

He has many more years of earning ahead of him outside the ring. He'll make more in Hollywood than he ever did taking bumps.
