Curious, how much oil is consumed by daily/commuter driven Shelby? Asking because i changed oil last month using Amsoil signature series. Since then I have added more than 2.5 quarts to maintain level between dipstick graduation marks. I don't keep detailed records but i would expect that 2.5 quarts over 30 day period is not normal.
I have not seen any leaks or spots on the drive way, no oil burning smell or smoke out the exhaust.
Its going back to the dealer for inspection.

My original stock motor used .5-.75 of a quart between oil changes that were done when the car told me it was time for an oil change. At 54K I had a rod knock so that engine was changes under warranty for a new complete new engine. That new engine used 1.5 quarts the first 500 miles, but as of now at 4K on the new motor it has not used any more oil.

Any smoking from the pipes ? Perhaps check engine at night with a flashlight and paper towels to wipe for drops or mist ? If oil is dripping on the headers it could result in an engine compartment fire. Unless I'm reading wrong 2.5 quarts missing in one month is major & dangerous. I'd check the car where it sits with for oil pan leaks and definitely bring the car in to be looked at on a lift for oil misting under the chassis especially from valve covers while driving. Sometimes upper oil pan or main seal leaks do not show up under a sitting car. But they do show up as oil mist along the under body or chassis. Daily driver or not. Something is not right Bub.

The number of miles it took to consume 2.5 quarts would be more helpful than days, but it sounds excessive to me just based on averages. When you start using a quart every thousand miles, something needs attention.

What weight oil are you using?

Brother...I think you got a problem. I use Amsoil 5-50 and just checked my 14 after I read your post. She has 11,500 miles and I have logged about 4,000 miles since last oil change in June. The level is maybe one 'dot' lower where it was when I did the oil change. There is no way your use is normal. Get it checked and good luck...keep up posted on the outcome.

Goes to the dealership Monday with 12 qts and filter (Amsoil signature series) in the trunk. They want to change the oil and monitor the level. I also got a sample kit from Blackstone, will pull a sample tomorrow. I checked the coolant level and there is black stuff adhered to the side of the coolant reservoir. Was under the car with flashligt and found oil on the alternator pigtail, oil pan near AC lines. Oil is going some where but dont see it on the ground at home or work. Sure am glad i bought the extended warranty before driving it off the show room floor!

Its easier to keep the case unopened vs. nine quarts sloshing around in the trunk.
They will most likely only use 7 at most since they dont drain the oil cooler.

Your car takes 8.5 quarts with or without the oil cooler. If they were able to drain the cooler and lines, you would add another quart for a total of 9.5 quarts.
Don't give the dealer a chance to overfill. Take in 9 quarts.

This is wisdom here.

I took my CTSV into the caddy dealer (maintenance was free for the first several years) and they overfilled the crank by over a quart. Called the service advisor to complain, but I drained it out on my own.

Next oil change they overfilled it AGAIN....Idiots. Called service writer and told him I’m never coming back.

Don’t give them the chance. Check it before you leave.

I will take the advice. Just took 3 qts out of the case. I was review old service tickets from the dealer. Car leak at front timing cover. They used dye and found timing cover seal defect. They replaced cover seals, crankshaft seal, valve cover gaskets water pump seal.
I am sure same issues again.
I will update later this week after they diagnose.
Thanks again for everyone sound advise and reminding me if they can mess it up they will.
I am getting the itch, want to build my own 5.8.

Your post had me concerned as I daily drive my Whippled 2013 GT-500. About 2800 miles since my last oil change w Mobil One 5W-50. Oil level is essentially at exact same top mark on dipstick as when we changed it. I do run JLT oil separators on both valve covers but those rarely have much oil in them either. Sounds like a definite issue on your end. Good luck at your dealer.

Update:
Service writer suggested an oil level study, basically they perform oil change and I monitor level. Then i would return the car when the oil level drops. He also said that Ford has published data that says cars use any where from 3/4 to 1 quart per 900-1200 miles.
At first I was like okay. Then I pointed out tar like build up on the inside of the coolant reservoir, they suggested dirt got into the system. I insisted that it appears to be a hydrocarbon. I asked how this would enter a sealed pressurized system. I asked them to test the coolant system, 150$.
I just want to be insured that i did my due diligence before putting the car back on the road.
I know that i might of been able to test coolant system myself with a simple kit but I am betting Ford would not give any validity to my findings.

Your headed in the right direction. Keep focused and save all documentation. Would even consider making a Memo for Record to record the details of who you spoke to and what they said after every conversation in person or on the phone if it turns out to be a bigger problem than a few gaskets leaking.
My guess...no way that much oil is leaking from gaskets. Unless the bottom of vehicle is covered in oil? It could be internal and blowing out the back?
Good luck.

You're much more likely to have coolant in the oil than oil in your coolant. Coolant and oil don't mix well, so monitor how the oil on the dipstick looks. If it looks like a chocolate milkshake, you've got coolant in the crankcase.

Very good advice, and agree....this isn't likely a gasket leaking issue, though it's interesting that they were already in fact replaced once already.

I had a 12 Boss 302 that drank oil. Went through the dealer oil monitor process and ended up with a brand new Long Block. Unfortunately, it seems there are always a few motors that just don't break in and/or come off the production line with less than quality parts/labour.

Good luck OP with your issue and hope they resolve the problem for you. Definitely get an oil sample when they do the oil change and send it off to BLackstone labs. Will be interesting to see if it comes back with any obvious issues.
