Engine Smelling Hot

I got a 2013 GT that is now put up for storage again. I noticed when I was driving it when it was still nice out that when I would park it, or stop at a stop light that under the hood it smelled hot. Gauges all showed everything was OK. Car drove fine and didn't feel weird. Last winter was the first time I ever was able to store it, and even after winter I didn't drive it a lot, just on nice days for not real long drives. Me and my buddy looked under the hood and none of the wires were touching anything and burning and everything looked good. I dont know if this is just because it doesn't get drove much (I didn't really notice this before when it was my DD). I did change to royal purple last oil change, but dont think that would change anything. Anyone on here with 13-14 GTs have the same thing happen? Hopefully I'm just overthinking it.

Could be any number of things, especially mod related. I'd just keep an eye on it.

Was your fan running? The resistor on the fans are notorious for burning up and could cause a burning smell maybe.

Been a few months but feel like I remember the fan being on when I pulled back in the garage.

No real mods. Got a CAI that’s been on it for years and a JLT catch can. Put black GT350 coil covers on and painted the lettering red this spring. Along with the engine cover letters being painted red. Used Krylon fusion which I’ve seen many people use.

Popped the hood and looked around some more. Coolant level was a little low so I filled it up. Oil level was fine as I remembered it. I’ve searched online and I see others saying similar things. Guess I will have to wait till spring for another test drive.

Or it smelled like something was burning?

What does hot smell like?

But gauges never showed rise in temp over normal?

Been a couple months but sort of smelled like hot plastic I would say. Hard to give it an exact smell. And yes the gages all looked good. The standard coolant temp and then also oil temp which I have with the track apps. Constantly have that one on when I’m in the car.
