Sorry for your loss. Such a beautiful car. The important thing is you seem to be ok. Do look after yourself in the coming days and weeks.

Holy cow. That was a heck of an impact. My wife got rear ended by a full size truck going 40 about 8 months ago. She was fine for a few days then bleeding in her kidneys plus lower back and neck problems started to surface. She is fine now but it took a while to get everything sorted out with the medical bills. Glad you’re ok and its reassuring how much of an impact these cars can take.
It's been 2 days since the accident and my neck does hurt more, I don't think I have any internal bleeding. But yes these cars can take a hell of hit.
Ouch that sucks losing that beauty. I remember when you posted the first pic of that GT500 from the dealer lot in Cali. Make sure that you are okay before doing anything.
Yup, I was so excited to drive out to Cali and pick her up. I went back to work today and felt alright.
Damn Steve, so sorry to hear buddy, but at least the car can be replaced.
That was a silver stripe delete glass roof right? Gotta be a rare one. As a glass roof guy, how'd it hold up in an accident?
-J
My car was 1 of 19, yes it had the glass roof and was a factory stripe delete car with 5k on it and the glass roof held up perfect. It will be impossible to find this exact car, but I did find a gray with blue stripes like yours I might pick up.
Real happy you walked away...texting and driving is the 1st thing that popped in my little brain. Good luck with the search for a new Trinity!
Yeah I'm not certain he was texting but he sure as hell wasn't paying attention.
Glad you are ok. Remember it’s just sheet metal and can be replaced.

All the best and glad you can count your blessings. Take some of the advice here - I was in crash worthiness research for many years of my career. - whiplash injuries are very hard to detect, especially right after a crash. Just keep an eye on yourself for a while.

The next Shelby will be even better. Congrats on walking away safe and sound.

Thanks man and yes I count my blessings, I have my first kid on the way and I want to be there for her so I'm happy I wasn't hurt.

I'm already kinda looking for another one.

I'm sure you know the drill...don't sign a damn thing until you've got more than enough money to cover your loss and you're sure you don't have any lasting injuries.

Steve, Im very happy to hear you walked away with no injuries. She gave her life to protect yours, and for that Im very thankful. These cars are tough as hell

That being said, I am so ****ing pissed off at what happened. The drivers out here in AZ are absolute shit. SHIT. There are just too many needless accidents that occur here daily. And to see that happen to your beautiful car just tears me up inside. Id absolutely press DPS to press as many charges as is allowable by law when the investigation is over. Simply no excuse for this to have occurred.

I trust NO ONE one these roads out here except fellow performance car owners. Even those guys are sometimes retarded...

She was a work of art and Im happy to hear you had at least a wonderful last event with her. You'll be back in another GT500 in no time. You need anything lemme know.

Doug is going to be piisssseeeddd when he hears what happened.

Sorry for your loss man. :(

Man that's terrible, you just put those new Corsa's on too.
I did, the corsa extremes got destroyed, but at least I know where to buy another set.

Thanks man, I really appreciate it. AZ drivers are pretty bad lol, you're right, my Shelby gave her life to save mine and I'm very lucky, I had such a blast at the 1/2 mile races and the car did amazing out there and I was just about to start really modding her up. I will always miss this car. But I will be buying another 14 GT500. Tell Doug I'm alright, just a little sore.

Sickening. Everyday we are all so close to people who do not care and do not have the intelligence to walk, much less drive. Enjoy the search for your next one.

Sorry to hear about your accident, and see the horrible result. I read about your experience picking it up at HB Ford and met you at Fab Fords. Good guy with a terrific looking car. Take your time on the soft tissue aspect, it can take a while to feel it. Good luck and glad you are OK.

I had the same thing happen early in June this year. luckily the other car went underneath mine (mazda 3). Took out some stuff but we ended up putting it back together. Being a lifted truck like that, He didn't help the cause at all. Defiantly get checked out. Glad you walked away..

So often we think our cars are heavy ....seeking ways to lighten while watching others with lighter lesser built cars get faster with much less effort. Yet...here's a great example of your Shelby keeping your life safe. You have much to be grateful during the holidays !! Best of luck & I tip my hat to you in your great plan to get another GT500!

Dang man. I'm sorry to hear. I remember following your story on which car to buy last summer. I also took ur advice on Exhaust and bought Corsa and installed on my car last week. Wicked sounding exhaust thanks for the detailed post you provided.

Take ur time - heal up to ensure you have no long term back/neck implications and make sure you get everything you ask for from the young punk who hit you. You will find another one with glass roof option.

Some good deals out there right now on 13/14s with low mileage.

There is a gorgeous Grabber Blue/ Black Stripe GT350 for sale in your area that I"m salivating over. Wife has her heels stuck in and not budging though, lol. I would sell my GB/Black 13' with Glass Roof if I can some how swing it.

Look into TBIs (traumatic brain injury) also. If a slow rollover (MRAPs in Iraq) is enough to cause them, this could cause one also.

Like everyone else said, that blows. Sorry for the loss of your car but glad you're ok.

I had a similar experience about a decade ago. Had just gotten done detailing my Bullitt- looked beautiful & shiny. This lady drives past me, flashes a thumbs up, then u-turns and gets behind me. I'm stuck in traffic, no place to go and the same lady rear-ends me @ about 30 MPH. Nearly totalled the car.

I guess the moral of the story is we shouldn't detail our cars.

I think I remember meeting you a Fab Ford's. I was really excited about taking this one back in 18, but I will have a different one, life changes so fast.

Thanks man, it's very true, yes the GT500s are kinda heavy, but that saved my ass big time, had I been in a viper or a Z06 I would have been hurt a lot more. This next one will be my 4th GT500 and I'm praying my last.

I'm happy to hear you got the corsa extremes, they sound amazing. Hopefully all the insurance stuff is done and over with in a couple of months and I can move on with my life. I'm still a little sore but I'm healing fast.

Why does it always have to happen after the car is detailed lol. I just wish people would reach back and pull their head out of their ass so cars like ours wouldn't get destroyed for no reason.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Glad to see you didn't get hurt worse than you did.
With your luck, the new GT500 will be announced the day after you find a nice 2014.

My worst fear when driving,... someone else..
Same here.
That's why I take my Mustang out only at certain times of the day and only when it is super nice out.
Anything can happen at any time, but I'd like to try and reduce that risk.
