That's awesome! Is there any actual practical use for it?

Anything that needs to be killed with fire.

That's a good thing! I have been pretty lucky other than one old bat at the end of our street hates anything loud, cars, kids etc...
I would be forced out of a neighborhood. I am an insomniac. Many times, out of bordom, I go out and work on different projects. One such project is the old 02GT. It is not exactly noise free. In fact, I am pretty sure it is on the edge of obnoxious in the middle of the night.

Dumb question

It simply won’t allow you to order it?
gun places are VERY hesitant about CA sales lol. Even if the order went through, they would cancel it. This is straight from the XM42 website:
At the time of this writing, we have read that: in California, unlicensed possession of “any non-stationary and transportable device designed or intended to emit or propel a burning stream of combustible or flammable liquid a distance of at least 10 feet” H&W 12750 (a)—is a misdemeanor punishable with a county jail term not exceeding one year or with a fine not exceeding $10,000 (CA H&W 12761). Licenses to use flamethrowers are issued by the State Fire Marshal.

In Maryland, flamethrowers fall under the state definition for a destructive device and are prohibited to possess.
