Hi everyone,

Just put a deposit down on a 2001 lightning today with 19,000 miles. Anything i should look for on this truck or be careful of? Essentially it looks new. Inside and out. Body is pretty much perfect.
It has been chipped i believe and it does have an open air filter. Stock one is in a box.
I plan on having my tuner, Alternative Auto Performance, look at it.
Thanks!

Having your tuner take a look over it/re-tuning it is a good move, especially if the pulleys are not stock.

Stock lower pulley is caged if I recall correctly.
Where was it located? Snowy area? Maybe check the underside as a JIC.

You don't need to do it but look for leaks in the fuel tank, you'll want proof it's not dumping fuel on the road when you see your first gas bill

Have fun, one of my favorite vehicles of all time

19k miles... Sweet find OP
Have a tuner look at it. But for sure do fuel filter and maybe a tune up. Ngk tr6 plugs all day for these baby's.
Have the coolant system checked/ changed if needed due to age and as well trans fluid. Rear end as well because of the age.

It is a 2001, so be careful removing spark plugs!
Removing isn't the issue. Its correct torque that's important. Many people over torque the plugs which is what causes the stripped threads
