so I went yesterday with my 17 GT auto (3.15 gears) and I was hoping to get a better time with theses mods

Lund flex fuel (was running e85)
Pmas (tune required)
Roush x Pipe & axel backs

I was getting 7.9’s consistently
Does that sound right?

Before that I was doing 8.25 stock.

That is actually pretty good. I have a first gen coyote swap in my mystic cobra and 8.0 and 7.9 at about 90 to 91 mph was all I could muster with nitto drag radials. 1.9 to 2.0 sixty foot. I just ran last Friday with a set up half used 28x10x17 hoosier bias ply slicks on a 17x9 wheel and it dropped my ets to 7.518 at 94 mph with a 1.7 60 foot. Still alot left in it. If you have an auto get a good set of drag radials, if you have a stick get some bias plys. Best mod I have done yet. Picked up the extra two wheels and the half used slicks for 100 bucks.

Sorry forgot to mention that I have 305/45/17 et street R. I don’t have problems with traction what so ever. My friend ran a 7.9 with just an intake no e85 and other than that we have the exact same car. Maybe I need to send in a revision to lund to check it out because I just got the tune and ran it.

So I would say that your tune is fine. If you are worried about it data log during the run and make sure there is no retard timing (positive knock). Also what is your 60 foot. If it is not a 1.6 or 1.7 you need to work on getting that down. I think on a very well prepped track with the right gear/tire/suspension combo a 1.5 is possible. I was stuck at 7.8, 7.9 for a long time on radials it was because i could not get my 60 foot down below a 1.9. 1/8 mile the 60 foot is crucial for low e.t. because you don't have the top end of the 1/4 mile to make up for the lack of getting out of the hole.

Yeah I get 1.9 60ft. Since I’m automatic I would need to change the converter and get a higher stall. But I don’t want to do that until I really figure out what route I want to go with (roots or centrifugal super charger)

irwindale is hit or miss , always do the left lane ... what was your mph ? 90+ ? .... try to yank on the e brake , and regular brake , load up the converter as high as you can so you can get a decent level of power out the hole , stock converter and u on 3.15s NA on stock converter gonna make for some soggy launches

let me see timeslips

I finally got headers and a 4c converter installed and went to Irwindale yesterday. Ended up with a very low 1.6ft and got 7.35 at the 1/8th doing 95mph

there you go man , that converter makes a world of difference when you're NA , throw in an 18 intake manifold .... 7.35 at 95 you got easily 11.4-11.5 at 120s .... good shit man , been thinking about visiting but i dont think i will pass tech

I think your car would benefit from a shorter tire. 3.15s + 28” tire= very long gearing
