So I’m looking for a .22 pistol.

I shoot so much that I feel owning one would save me money in the long run.
I’m leaning towards the smith and Wesson revolver either 17 or 617.
What do you guys think?

My dad owns a smith model 41 performance center and I love to shoot it.

What else would you recommend in .22?

Do you have a glock 17 or Sig 226? if so, get a conversion kit. I have a slide for my legion 226 and it works flawlessly. I think it cost me 180.

Ruger Mark III. I love mine. I have the hunter version with the fluted barrel. Awesome gun. I shoot .22 matches with it. Its a shit ton of fun and cheap lol

I love the 16 a lot. It’s probably my favorite rifle to shoot however i do plan to buy the scout squad. I was handling one at my buddies gun shop and the only reason i haven’t bought it is because it’s a NY compliant rifle with a crowned barrel, and i just picked up a DSA FAL

Born and raised Brockton. Living in Naples.
I owned a MK II Govt. and a 22/45, definitely go MK IV if you go Ruger. Disassebly and reassembly is a bitch.

Anything by Hamerli or a worked 41 is the way to go.
Those hamerlis are awesome pistols.

I’m really leaning towards the smith 617 due to the 10 round cylinder and I’m liking a revolver for 22.

We shall see.

I've posted this one before, but not since I fitted a Wilson Bulletproof grip safety yesterday, and a new HiViz fiber front sight today. Also has Smith and Alexander one piece mag guide/mainspring housing, Wilson thumb safety, Wolff recoil spring, 10-8 u-notch rear sight, adjusted sear spring for a 4.5 lb trigger, and VZ grips.

Dad would be proud of it. It was his.
I can't decide whether to put it in the safe, or shoot the snot out of it.

Very nice. I don't know your dad but would guess he would want you to shoot the snot out of it

He's been gone 23 years. Three days before he died we were discussing all his guns and what I should do with them when he was gone. He was still lucid at that point and said, "Where I'm going, do you think I'll need 'em?"

We both knew he was a very short timer, but we laughed hard at that.
