So I’m leaving work today and see a note on my beater windshield. I thought it was someone playing a joke on me. Nope guy said the wind took his door right into my fender. He admitted it on the phone when I called him. I’m sure security has it on film somewhere. Idk yet if it’s gonna be a fight to get him to fix it. He seemed like it could pop out, haha. Took it to his guy he told me to and the body shop said they would just replace the fender cause it’s cheaper than repairing. They are closed on weekends so I haven’t heard back on if he is gonna repair it. I went today at 3 and they closed at 5:30 so not sure what to think. If I don’t hear back Monday I know I’m gonna have a fight on my hands. Least he left a note! Haha

Yeah, I've never ever seen a dent that big from a door swinging open. Either he's not telling exactly how it happened to cover his claim it was "the wind", or it was a 75 mph wind gust. Wonder what his door looks like? Did you ask him to text you a photo of his door? LOL. Well, I hope for your sake he does the right thing and covers the damage to your car, since regardless of how it happened it was his fault.

I contacted security from the building today, just in case. I told them around when it happened so if he decided to screw me at least I have the video footage to submit a claim

Hope I'm right but I'd say he wouldn't have left the note and his number if he didn't intend on paying.
His intent to pay could change if the cost is, in his mind, too high. That happens too often. Then it could move to small claims court. Just sayin!

Talking to my neighbor last night and this exact thing happened to him.

Came out and the entire front fascia of his bullitt was ripped off. Note on the windshield from a neighbor to call him. Dude calls the guy, tells him sorry, backed into your car. Can't pay.

I think they do that because a hit and run is a crime, not paying isn't.

Not an adjuster or body shop guy, but I think he was trying to pull out and scraped your car. Those uneven scratches aren’t made with a door lol.

Doesn't look too bad, use a plunger device to pop out the dent and polish the fender lol.

But couldn’t he submit a claim to the guys insurance? I mean if this guy is gonna be a douche and not pay I’m going to call my insurance company submit the video and let the rest take carr of itself. Isn’t that why they have insurance so you can go after them if they don’t pay out of pocket.

I guess this guy didn't have insurance.

But yes, your insurance company will go after him. Have you asked for his insurance info?

Not yet because I took it to his guy and am waiting to hear what he wants to do. Security is aware of it so since it’s the weekend I’m waiting it out. Sucky part is this is my last week with the company and i got a new job. So it needs to be handled Monday asap
