That is a 3 day drive one way for me. Doubt I will make that trip, especially since mine is a track only vehicle.

I think it is a great idea.

The Mustang Club of America is looking at doing a driving event in 2019 that will be centrally located in the country in the Summer if the plans all come together. This will be a mini anniversary event.

I can update as it happens. I know they would welcome R owners and let us make it an R meet for us.

Tom

I did the last driving event that MCA had at Indianapolis Grand Prix track. It was wonderful time and they treated us great. Would definitely be interested in doing another driving event. Would love it to be at a historical track other than Indy because I've already been there LOL.

It isn't Indy.

I would think a longer track would be favorable, and there at least 2 up here that fit that bill nicely.

Sorry, but I was thinking.....I was thinking that Mark Wilson should be named President of U.S. operations.

Ford needs a guy that can lead this Company back to being #1 from an operation as well as with a ability to understand the future of the car demands.

So far with the number of people interested we are going to have to piggy back on existing events with a couple of exceptions.

On Tuesday we would participate in a track event put on by these guys:

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mohawk-track-experience-2018-tickets-39636556006

It's a great event and there are a number of Ford people who will be attending.

I'm still waiting for some other events to be posted but I'm imagining there will be a Roush Museum open house on Wednesday or Thursday and I'll set up a tour of Watson Racing on Thursday or Friday depending on when I can arrange a tour of AAI (where the Mustang is produced). If you haven't seen it yet you can also spend at least 1/2 a day touring the Henry Ford Museum which is an unforgettable experience. If the group is into taking a driving tour we can also drive to the Gilmore Museum. Some great cars and a fantastic place to get some cool pictures of your cars with old fashion gas stations and what not. We could also do that driving back from Gingerman.

Saturday will of course be Woodward Dream a cruise and Sunday will be a huge car show at Ford World Headquarters.

If you can send me a PM with your email address I will start and email group with specifics.

Lol! While I appreciate the offer I will have to respectfully decline.

If I'm being completely honest I really wouldn't want that job. I know the guy who has the position now and although the pay is quite nice you lose your personal life which mine is already at a premium.

I am actually in a great position right now where I have a great opportunity to support the enthusiast market. I'll let Joe H do his thing with US Operations and I'll provide my input when we meet.

I am just an internet pundit who has owned 17 Mustangs cars (and no Camaro's).

First, it is impossible for me to buy a GT350 (for MSRP or below).

Second, the new 2018 Mustang GT Pack 1 is slow compared to the 2018 Camaro SS 1LE. I think part of the problem is the rear independent suspension--it doesn't work well.

MT agreed with me and reported the above Mustang did a 1:23.9 on the Streets of Willow course while the 2018 Camaro did a 1:20.6 with a lower price point.

I know it's just one year, but GM has a lighter and faster car.

Of course, the F-150 continues to lead the class and earns Ford billions of dollars in revenue.

Easy to find a GT350 in my parts for $3,500 off sticker. Possibly more if one were to try a little.
