Whoops, I meant GT350s*

Came across these cars while I was searching for track pack 2016s. The all red for $41,900 seems like too good of a deal but I figured I'd let you guys put another set of eyes on them. currently in contact with the dealer because I am interested in the White one. They have sent me the AutoCheck and its an original WA car and has 2 previous owners, zero accidents,ect... Are the prices really dropping that fast because of the new GT500 being announced? Or are their serious issues with the 2016's that I'm not aware of?

If you pull the cars up on the actual dealer website the price is much higher. I’m wondering if there is a glitch in auto traders system. The dealers website prices are more in line with correct values.

I have a 2017 and I'm not as familiar with the 2016s. None of those have the rocker switches down above the console for traction control, muffler setting, etc. So I'm not sure those are really Track Pack cars. Maybe the 15/16s used a different arrangement. Some of the others on here can confirm. I would say if they are Tech Pack cars and with mileage in the mid-teens, they are probably priced about right.

They have window stickers and they all show Track Package options so I'm not sure.

Really? Their website shows the exact same prices as autotrader for me?

EDIT: I see what you mean. When your click on the vehicle it shows a different price. Hmmm I bet theres a glitch then, thanks!

That’s odd if I hit their website from the auto trader adds the prices are higher.

Those are some very low prices then. Would make me nervous for sure.

I see that. I looked for a link to a picture or something of the window sticker but must have missed it. They do have the track pack rear spoiler so maybe the earlier cars didn't use the row of toggle switches just above the console. I'm not sure.

My 16 tech was no different than a track car other than the coolers, seats and spoilers so that’s not the case. I’m wondering if they are PP or promo cars.

...

Two things. First, the '15/'16 cars are stigmatized because of the reported cooling problems. There are some non Mustang people on Youtube doing "reviews" saying ALL the '15/'16 cars had cooling issues, except the R, when it was only the Base and Tech Pack cars. Also, Tech Pack. The Tech Pack is persona non grata among Mustang people. The Track Pack became standard for '17, so a lot of people might be playing it safe and skipping even looking at a '16. Second, prices are coming down because the GT350 production was extended two years beyond what most people thought it would run. Almost everybody expected production to end after the '17MY. They're already building '19s.

Bait and switch, probably. We've had numerous posts/threads about "good deals" on GT350s only for it to turn out not to be true when they contact the dealer.

I'm not sure why it gets screwed up so often. Pre 17 here are the easiest ways to distinguish between "tech" and "track" packs.

The most sure way (that I've found) is the strut tower brace. Ford installed the aluminum strut tower braces on all "track" packs and the R's. This brace features enlarged/thickened end sections. Conversely on all the tech pack cars, they featured the steel brace which is uniform and smooth the entire way across.

Track pack cars do not have the toggle switches for TC or exhaust mode. (you have to use the modes on the steering wheel/display). Obviously, track pack cars do not NORMALLY feature the larger center console screen. The tell-tale little screen with the number pad next to it is a pretty good indicator of a track pack car. The seats are one of the worst ways to figure it out, because it doesn't always follow for the heated/cooled leather vs. the recaros.

With the additional cooler kits now available, I feel the cooler issue is now a non-issue.

Simple fact that these cars don't have problems unless you're doing some sort of HPDE for an extended length of time not withstanding, adding the coolers actually gives you all the best features with the tech and the ability to manually run the coolers when you want or need to.

I just got off the phone with a salesperson and they confirmed the prices are indeed all correct. They seem to all be auction bought vehicles that have a laundry list of warranty work done to them. The White one I'm looking at had its engine pulled and replaced at 5,529 miles. Upon further inspection they found "collapsed followers...worn bearings...pitting on cylinder #8 wall". A cam sensor was replaced because of a check engine light and rough running engine at 12,199 miles. At 13,959 the customer stated hearing noises but the report says all the noises are what Ford considers to be normal. I believe its a Ford buyback vehicle but I cant remember exactly what the salesperson told me. I cant seem to get the images to load but if anyone wouldn't mind taking a look at them I can email the full warranty reports and a clean Autocheck.

I plan on driving it a few times a week as my GT500 is the garage paperweight. So with that being said I'm not overly concerned with the history of the vehicle. Am I crazy? Comments? Concerns? Criticisms? Any input would be very helpful, thanks! :)

No way I’d buy it. Too risky! For a few grand more get one without those issues.

I agree. Not worth the issues you could have, and you will always have trouble selling it.

I turned down a great price on a GT500 built exactly how I wanted for the same reason...

Osiris, where did you hear of a cooler kit? Last I heard, it was a very expensive modificahoutilizing fittings not compatible with trans. New trans required.

Ford Performance sells all the parts, you would use an external pump.

Mustang6g.com in the GT350 section has some good write ups on it, complete with part numbers, etc.

I got the complete cooler kit including trans through Ford Performance. I think it was around $3800. Solves the trans cooling issue.
