Hey everyone!

After 10 years of dreaming, finally purchased my Cobra! It's an silver 04, 34xxx miles, and I absolutely love it. As far as I can tell so far without really ripping into her, all that's done to it is a Pypes Catback, Saleen Wheels, Knock off rubber chin spoiler, and an intake.

I'm coming from the import world, having two WRXs and then an STI, so I'm trying to do some research on where to start. I'd like to get in the mid 400s to the wheels and stay there for a while until I'm at my next duty station but we'll see what happens.

I don't have any more pictures yet since it just got here last night but I'll take a bunch today and post them up!

Coming from a turbo world I truthfully have no idea how the different size pulleys work for the blower. Is bigger better? Usually bigger turbos mean more power but also more lag, and smaller means not as much but less lag. Is it around the same concept with the pulleys? I assume smaller would spin faster with the smaller surface space so means more boost or just quicker boost response?

I'm also cruising the suspension section because I'd like to get rid of most of that wheel gap. I started my car obsession on an 04 GT back in 2007 and that was my biggest pet peeve was the ride height. I don't want to make it nearly as low as my STI was but I'd like to have a more aggressive looking lower overall stance than the stock look with much wider wheels.

Pulley, intake, tune, NGK TR6 plugs gapped at .032, subframe connectors. I’d also recommend a differential cover and at minimum IRS pumpkin bushings. As well as the front subframe IRS bolts.

Cobra looks great.

So it sounds like the subframe is a weak point by saying to replace the connectors and bolts?

Nice car! Good choice switching from an import to good-ole American muscle.

You have a blank canvas to paint your masterpiece. Do your research and paint once.

Thanks for your service too.

The sub frame connectors tie the front and rear sub frames together to stiffen the chassis up. Coupes don't have them from the factory. The IRS subframe he's talking about is also called the cradle. The front bolts that hold it to the body are too small of a diameter from the factory and contribute to the "Cobra Clunk" everyone hears about. Putting in the correct size bolts helps get rid of the clunk.

I'm almost certain I've already heard that clunk that you're talking about and was wondering what it was. I'll have to swap out those bolts and see if it fixes it.

Also here's the engine bay!

Is the pulley supposed to be green?

Congrats on your new purchase. That looks like the car I was possibly going to trade my 14 in for. Did you get that at Duval Ford in Jacksonville?
