I have an old Grandfathered Unlimited plan from 2008 and am thinking of moving to the new Unlimited Plus plan. Is there any hidden reason why I shouldn't?

Good question, I will have to look into this as well. Didnt know they even had it. Knew these carriers would start to come full circle again with offering unlimited.

I just wish the service was as good as Verizon out here.

I thought they get you on throttling the speeds after so many GB now. After like 15 GB it goes down to 3G speed. I know I read that recently but God only knows where...

I’m actually liking my Comcast/Verizon. I only do 1 gig because I’m usually on WiFi, but pick up their hotspots all over. $54.95 a month, and that includes my iPhone X.

I thought they deprirotize you at 22gb on the new ATT unlimited, I assume that was the same with the old grandfathered. But I question with your old account do you have unlimited talk and text?

My bill went down after going from the Old Unlimited>limited data> New Unlimited. They still cap you if you reach XX gig and I think I had to link my Direct TV account.

Ugh cannot do Comcast for anything...too many bad experiences with them.
We usually only do wifi also but we have 6GB of data just in case....our one year review of average used data is coming up, i am betting we will go down in our data plan.
I usually only get on here and check the news anyway...

I’ve heard that, and pretty sure it’s regional. They’re actually decent here. Not cheap though.

I have done exactly what you’re asking. Unlimited service is reduced after 17 gigs my kids hate it.

I was grandfathered in with unlimited with Verizon up until 2013. Then Verizon pulled the switcheroo. I honestly don't know why I'm still with Verizon.

Talk, text, and data are all separate with my current account.

Keep the grandfathered plan. There's a reason it's not offered anymore and it's not because it's undesirable.

I upgraded my family to the AT&T unlimited plan about 4 months ago. We used over 55g last month. I didn't notice any difference in speeds/throttling/video quality nor did any of the kids as they watch netflix, etc... If they did throttle it wasn't noticeable as I watch a lot of youtube videos.

That has always been my sentiment, and at the time it was true. However, I can't find any advantage with my old plan that now has less features and is over 20% more expensive. Is there something I'm missing?

Supposedly they only throttle once the individual phone hits 22g and then only with the towers you are on are congested. Down here in the summer I could see getting throttled being a possibility. The actually bring in extra mobile cell towers an position them around the area to keep up with the load.
