Has any1 swapped the GT500 5.8 blower instead of the Eaton m122? I'm working on a m122 swap, but was curious if the TVS from the trinity would work with the adapter plate or if any1 has even done that swap? Any numbers or pros and cons versus the m122 swap?

so many good blowrs out now and the new tvs will come out. why bother with this swap
Something different. I kind of get tired of at every car show seeing all of the 03/04 Cobras with basically the same build, every time. Plus I have been thinking of compound boost and figured an M122 would be better for that job than a M112. So a mix of something different and it folds into the mix well of future plans. I'm open to other ideas too lol.

Anyone know if the GT500 2.3 TVS is the same as the Cobra 2.3 TVS, excluding 1 is driver side intake versus passager side?

The compressor is the same the snout and adapter plate and inlet are different. I was sick of all the same stuff at shows that is why I went with the Kenne Bell 3.6LC.

I get the whole wanna be different thing but it’s such a proven design with these aftermarket blowers available. Why fix it if it isn’t broken? Any aftermarket blower will be a better option than a trinity blower and not require any potential modifications.

There's a reason everyone does x y z swaps.....

They work.

As stated above the adapter plates are different, not to mention the big '5.8' on the side of the blower would be a giant turn off with the cobra's 4.6....

there's this:

Cobra Engineering LLC

says you can use the 2.3 tvs with the same adaptor plate.

use the snout from your 112.

it's doable.
Sweet, I didn't even see that! Thanks! You gave me the information I was looking for. Though now I'm not so sure, with the above replies.

However, I guess my point is that if it's the same as a TVS Cobra 2.3, why not? Seems it's about the same price as a regular TVS, same performance but I have, at least to me, more of a unique, aesthetically appealing power adder.

I've got an m122, so I've already committed to the swap, but now I'm thinking if switching it for a Trinity Blower.

Btw, I can grind down and make a badge for the spot that says 5.8. I do agree, I don't want it saying 5.8 either on my Cobra.

Yes, it also leaves me open for a 2.3 TVS blower off of a GT500, which would remove the 5.8 lettering all together.

Someone on the s197 forum swapped the later blower onto an earlier GT500. They were able to get the 5.8 machined off. You'd never know it was there.

I did the m122 swap and was going to put a gen2r or trinity on mine a while back. A few people have and it is different but there's not much to be gained over our 2.3 TVS. I didn't like the intake on the drivers side, not much cool air coming in over there and I didn't want to cut any holes. The people with the trinity on their cobra had cobra engineering modify them. I sold the setup and waiting on the 2.65 tvs

Understood. Why is the air flow different on that side? Seems like both sides are basically the same, no? While it seems everyone has made good points on me not bothering with the GT500 2.3, I still like the idea of being able to use a GT500 aftermarket blower.

I am already pot committed to the m122 swap. I was just thinking about the future, but it seems a Trinity swap is pointless, but the ability to use an aftermarket GT500 blower in general is still appealing. Unless it's not worth it?
