Just turned 14,500 miles on stock Goodyear F1s. All street miles...never on the track. Only 1 smoking burnout from a dead stop. Who has more miles?

i went through 3 sets of GY f1s. Didnt grip unless they were hot. Ride got kinda rough after 9k or so. Switched to MP4S, never looking back. Got 66K on the clock now, wasted too many miles on GYs.

The only things the stock GY's did really well were, isolate the wheel from the road and pick and fling 100% of all the gravel they came into contact with. The only people with a lot of miles on these tires are the ones who don't realize there are much better tires available, or they have read the owners manual and don't deviate from company policy.

Form the 2013 GT500 Owners Manual Supplement. Pg 27
WARNING: For vehicles equipped with performance package
tires (P265/40-19 front, P285/35-20 rear), only replace wheels
and tires with the EXACT original brand, size and construction tire
with which your vehicle was originally equipped. Use of any other
wheel/tire combinations, even with identical size ratings, may result in
insufficient running clearances, tire rubbing and eventual puncture.
Loss of tire pressure could lead to a loss of vehicle control leading to
serious injury or death.

You will enjoy your car MUCH more with an upgrade in rubber and regret all 14,500 on the GYs.
But to be kind, congrats on the new improved experience.

On any vehicle I purchase (Shelby, cars, trucks, jeeps) the tires are usually the first thing to go in lieu of something better.

Factory tires are like builder grade cabinets in a new house, they suck

Get rid of the factory tires. I'm running ps4s.295/35/20 up front and 315/35/20 out back.michelin is the way to go. My next rear tires I am looking to get 325/30/20, and redo my fronts.

I put about 1,000 miles on the stock rubber. 13,500 on the 305 GY F1s I bought for dirt cheap off a 1,000 mile ZL1.

I imagine waiting so long to get good tires is like waiting until marriage to have sex..........totally unnecessary and I’ll kick myself repeatedly after I make the change.
