Congrats man!

But I’ll say me coming from a 2014 coyote car to this 2018... you’re missing the magic of the ‘18.

Add boost to your 16 and you’ll be a happy man.

Thanks! Strongly considered an ‘18, and as I said earlier in this thread, a few weeks ago I drove a PP2 at a dealer. The ‘18’s are awesome cars, but I like the styling of the 15-17 better (front end). The Roush exhaust made me crazy and I had to have it. The one I bought has everything I want except Recaros, but the leather is nice and surprisingly hasn’t been hot in the Vegas Sun. Super happy and for a price in the mid 20’s, I couldn’t pass on it.

Super cool.

You were the guy about to buy a gt350 a few months back but going round and round with the wife right?

Sounds like you found a great happy medium!

Yep. Actually went to pull the trigger on a 350 and the seller backed out. I have been looking for something ever since then. Thought about an ‘18, drive that PP2, even considered a ‘13 Boss LS over in Cali but the seller decided to keep it. In the end, decided to just get something to make me happy that is fun to drive. Plus you’re right, it’s a happy medium.

As much as I love the mustang I cannot believe people would pay 40K+ for a car that will lose 1/3 it's value the second it's driven off the lot even with all the upgrades. The total idea of the mustang was to be a car the working man could afford and enjoy.

I can understand paying 50-60K for a GT500 or 350 but for base model with tech again is absurd. This is the reason the second I sell my house and move I'm getting a 03/04 Cobra for 20-30K that's clean.

And this is exactly why I decided on a used 2016 in the mid $20’s. I love the 2018, I just can’t fathom spending $43k plus tax and title for a GT. No offense to anyone who has one, they are great cars. But I’m a husband and father of 2 kids who is a regular guy, so spending that much on a car, even if it’s do-able, doesn’t make sense.

That all depends on the individuals finances.

What you say makes sense for the guy making $50k/year.

Someone making 4 or 5 times that amount could care less about a new vehicles depreciation especially if that vehicle is a toy.

Autos, as a rule, are not typically tools for building wealth.

A) thats why im looking used.

B) define working man? Im just a lowly enlisted man and can afford one with relative ease.

A base mustang gt fastback in 1968 was roughly 45% of the average families annual income

A base gt now costs 59% of the median household income.

Now with that 14% rise how much extra does that car have?

The american consumer is demanding more and more luxury. More andy more safety.

Along with that the rise in cost comes partly due to the fact the mustang doesnt share a platform. The mustang originally shared its chassis with the falcon, and later the fairmont. This keeps cost down.

And lastly the mustang wasn't designed for the working man. It was marketed at women.

I think it comes down to what you prefer. For the 2018 (or 2015-17 for that matter) I think PP is a must. I believe a 2018 PP with cloth interior can be had for mid-$30's. It's once you start tacking on all the extras (tech, leather, etc.) that things get nuts. I love the quad exhaust and the different exhaust modes. Again, it depends on what your priorities are. I just don't know why ford did that to the front end. SMH

Pp for me would depend on the car I find. It'd be nice, but on a dd I don't see it's value

Agreed. You can get a 2015-17 for under $30k already!

I've got my eyes open for a boosted S550 which can be had low to mid 30s. Now way would I pay $40k+ for a Mustang GT that is not some classic that will only go up in value.

**** that $ & **** boring silver

Literally my favorite color on a car.

My first lightning was silver, my 2013 s4 was silver, my f250 was silver, one of my tahoes was silver.

And 41k aint bad. It would be the cheapest new car ive bought since my 2013 wrx which was 31k.

My wifes last 5 dd's were 49k, 42k, 47k, 67k, 73k
All new
08 f250, 10 tahoe lt, 11 eb f150 fx4, 15 tahoe ltz, 17 f350 lariat ultimate.

Its all relative I guess.

I'm saying **** $41k on it b/c it'll be worth $21k in a year. My 1st & only silver car was my 06 Vette. Not doing that again. Just does nothing for me. Looks are subjective so pointless going down that road :D

It'll be worth more than 21, but I get your point. Again, I'll buy a used 18 due to this.

I live in a very rainy area, so silver is nice because it pops in the sun, but stays cleaner than dark colors. I really want crimson red
