I have a '16 Explorer Sport. It's tuned by Livernois. It's a quick and fun SUV, plenty of room for the kiddos. MPG not great but I sort of expected that going from a 2.0L 4 cylinder Edge to this. Only issue I've had is a squeaky fan assembly in colder weather.

Spring for all the options, especially 2nd row bucket seats. The new '18s have all the safety equipment (collision, adaptive cruise, etc) that the previous models lacked. Honestly Ford overpriced these for what you get. I almost went with an Acadia Denali over my XSport but just had to have the big motor.

Give me a link Tanner. I have a new EB F-150 on the way.

This is just my opinion but they're not needed. Especially since yours is newer and will also have port injection.

I'd like that link, too, as I'll be in the market for an EB F150 soon.

You won't find a link that 100% says its needed. You'll find maybe one picture of some mildly dirty valves and then a bunch of people that have them or sell them saying they're needed. But nothing to back their claims up... then you'll have 10 of thousands of trucks that never had them and never had any problems.

You can draw your own conclusions from there. I don't think they will hurt anything to have one but I'm not putting one on my truck. For what it's worth I have one on my Cobra because I've seen the caking that happens to the intercooler. So I may not be the best judge here...

If I bought one knew and had planned to keep it for a very long time I would spend the money and put oil separators on each side otherwise f*** it. I have a 125000 mile warranty on mine and it will be gone before the warranty is up so I don't really give a s***

Glad you decided to get tuned by us, we have a great reputation for the ecoboost for picking up alot of great power reliably and hear alot of awesoem feedback on our products for all the ecoboost vehicles!

I was looking for a link to buy one, lol. Guess I didn't read back far enough to know what you were talking about.

I saw a few threads yesterday that were more than convincing enough for me.

Oh! Got the links? I've looked at a bunch and can't find any to convince me. Not against getting one... just haven't seen any solid evidence I need one.

We almost went with the Acadia Denali too, but even my wife hated how slow it was.

Absolutely. Everyone on the explorer forums without the buckets wishes they had them. The 2nd row buckets don't come with armrests. Since my kids go in the bucket seats, I did not install the center console to make it easier to get into the third row. When my oldest gets out of a car seat I will install the center console because there's an button that lifts the seat up to get into the third row.

At least on the 2016 Sport model, you can't get heated rear seats or rain sensing wipers. I was a little disappointed that a vehicle as expensive as the XSport didn't come with these options but my old 2013 Edge Limited had these features. If you want these features AND the 3.5L TT ecoboost you have to spring for the Platinum model.

It's also 4 years old.

Understood. Has anything changed significantly in terms of combustion in the EB motors over the last 4 years? Honest question. If it's still the same basic functionality, it doesn't matter if the thread is 20 years old.

That's what I'm looking for over there now, I want to know too. I may need to join that site seeing as I have one on the way.

Yes, they got port injection also. Think the primary reason people say you need one is cause the valves get gummed up cause of the DI.

What about the water in the IC, is that still a issue? I can't get that site to come up now. It's our stupid internet at work.

DI is the driving factor. I don't know if PI helps, hurts, or has no impact. My hunch is it has no impact, therefore, the gumming up as a result of DI is still an issue. But, I'd love to hear that PI at least mitigates it to some degree.
