Maybe I'm missing something, but my Hellcat with MT DR's has a 0-60 on 3.5 seconds and runs 10.8's. They can't do better than the original with 90 more HP? Something doesn't sound right.

likely their numbers are just more 'realistic' this time around- one would have to think that they learned the hard way that numbers that are marketed vs those that are actually reproduced in the wild need to be more in line, and if not then they need to answer to that.

i have never been a dodge fan, but the last few years have really opened my eyes to what they are doing. i said it long ago- it would be beyond sad if ford waited all this time to release what they claim to be a game changer only to be bettered by the competition even before it is released...venom MIGHT be able to kill demons (still a stupid comment IMO), but who cares when there is about to be something else that perhaps kills demons coming out from under its own roof...plus others are already in attack mode.

i feel like something is really off at ford, but i continue to give them the benefit of the doubt that they know what they are doing with this gt500 nonsense (but a big part of me does not believe it so far). if i was in the market for a bad ass vehicle, ford at this point is not even in my top 5 anymore when it used to be at the top (except maybe the GT, but hundreds of thousands of dollars is out of my budget). i am still super proud to have my 2014 GT500 and have no immediate plans to get rid of it given the amount of money and time invested to make it more of what i want, but in all honesty my eyes are wandering and i will have to seriously consider before spending more money on more mods at this point. i do not like the looks of a single mule or rendering or whatever that i have seen of this new (soon to be old before it is even released) gt500 so would not consider getting one (regardless of what ford might claim it can do) so for now i'm just gonna make some more popcorn and watch it all unfold. i kinda like how ford took a shot at dodge (venom kills demons...LOL) YET dodge continues to do what it wants and is without a doubt killing it.

New for 2019, the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is possessed by the Demon. Its 797-horsepower supercharged HEMI® high-output engine makes it the most powerful, quickest and fastest muscle car reaching 0-60 miles per hour (mph) in 3.4 seconds and the fastest GT production car with a ¼ mile elapsed time (ET) of 10.8 seconds at 131 mph. It also reaches a new top speed of 203 mph. Joining the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with its more powerful 717-horsepower engine, as well as the Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody, which features fender flares from the SRT Hellcat Widebody and adds 3.5 inches of width to Scat Pack’s footprint.

And wow that is an impressive number I found in the article posted.

“Charger and Challenger retail sales have increased 70 percent since 2008, and since the launch of Scat Pack in August 2014, high-performance model sales increased from 4 percent to more than 25 percent."

I was reading that the Hellcat numbers are over 29,000 units sold, not including any 2018's. That's over $2 billion in revenue from a little over 2 years of sales. They are going to keep it going until they stop making money. Smart move in my opinion.

Dodge, as usual, does not disappoint. Does it say what they did to get the car to 797? Maybe they put the Demon blower on it? Everyone is going to be f’ed when the Challenger/Charger goes on a diet. And the GT500 is absolutely nowhere to be seen, but dodge continues to one up their products. Dodge for me, but the Bullitt sure is nice.

Pick your poison.

Dodge is murdering the muscle car game right now. Period. There cars are actually cool and have some sort of soul. As sad as it is for me to say, Ford’s do not. And haven’t in a long time. IMO.

Just wow. Dodge is killing it in that market. They really tapped into the right target audience with a big car like that and big HP. It seems the Hellcats and Demons are good ambassadors to get people into the lesser models as well, from what I've seen from other numbers.

“Like its Demon brethren, it has 25 major component upgrades, including a larger supercharger, strengthened connecting rods and pistons, high-speed valve train, fuel injection system and improved lubrication system,” the company said in a new release.

And I think Ford is getting a bit of too harsh of feedback. Lets not forget the GT350 and its flat plane, higher HP GT, PP1, PP2 packages... They are punching it out in the in the "meat" of the market.

does not surprise me- 2 completely different markets, production numbers, etc. plus, there are a zillion different corvette models and packages (with at least several less expensive than the hellcats)
